He is averaging 21 points and 9 rebounds a game in juco this year. I hear that the coaches think he is going to be a huge contributor next year.

those 90 rebounds will come in handy

Great to hear, 1st guard off the bench is up in the air next year. Would be great if he's ready to take that role or even beat out Bienemy for the starting spot (which would be a huge surprise).

He is listed as a SG.....Is he slated to take over for CJ?

Or could he play the three and let Reeves play the two?

This team will only have 4 guards as it stands right now and it'll still be absolutely loaded in the backcourt. Not sure they e even need another.

Gotta have 5 guards always, especially since only 1 will have Big12 experience come next year.

Just waiting for someone to say "but it's against weak juco competition" blah blah!

I guess we just got on him early?? I was just surprised he didn't really have any offers until us.

They think he has a good chance to be in the league in a few years. Harmon, Bienemy, Reaves and Williams will be a great combination at guard and small forward. Doolittle is obviously also playing the small some. We may play a bunch of three guards with Manek and Doo inside and see if anybody can guard us.

Hopefully Alondes is our version of Mason Jones.... Juco guard from Oklahoma who is in his first year at Arkansas this year. 6'5'' 210, 3 years to play, and turned out to be an instant starter for the Hogs after nobody wanted him out of juco.

Arkansas was his only high-major offer, and I never saw anything about interest in him from OU or OSU, despite being in Oklahoma. I saw when he signed at the 11th hour to Arkansas but he wasn't on any radars that I was aware of.

He's averaging 15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game so far... Shoots 50% from the 3pt line and leads them in minutes played. The Hog fans seem pretty confident he is their second best player behind Gafford, who is an All Sec player. He plays great defense, very good shooter, and a big guard at 6'5''.

Makes you wonder how this happens... This wasn't a grades thing for Jones, because he came out after freshman year at juco. He just didn't get recruited by anyone and it looks like, bare minimum, he is going to be a really good player for Arkansas.

we need someone that can put it in the rack - hope this guy is it.

That player is already on our roster. Austin Reaves, the transfer from Wichita State, is a 45% shooter from three. He made a school record seven three pointers in the first half of one game the year before he transferred.

Austin had to sit out this season, but he should be very comfortable with the returning players on next year’s team, having spent the past few months playing with them in practice.
