Alondes Williams

Below avg video..

But can score at all levels

Yes he can! He scored in so many ways I lost count. Good handles and passing skills too.

The jury is still out on his defense. None of the players on either team seemed to know what that word meant. lol I’m betting Alondes will be a quick study, though. He’s built like a linebacker.

We have 4 guards, plus Jalen Hill and Doolittle. Both of those guys are 3/4 type players. I still think if Kuath or the Fr Big we have coming in are legit players that we could start one of them at 5..Manek at 4, Doolittle at the 3. Then you would most likely have Bienemy, Williams and Hill off the bench.

It appears to me that Doo is doing most of his scoring out of the 5 spot. Last game he played at the three most of the first half and had 4 points. Second half he had twenty points mostly out of the 5.

Very possible, but unless Kuath improves a lot or Freeman starts at the 5 then I think OU goes small ball to start.

like this season while doo may start at the 3 (he will play most of his min inside)

Give me
1. Harmon
2. Reaves
3. Jamal
4. Manek
5. Doo

Maybe even Williams at the 3 instead of Jamal.

Freeman, Kur, Hill,
Victor Iwuakor

I think Williams might start instead of Bieniemy for two reasons: a) If Alondes is better; or b) Lon wants to bring Jamal off of the bench to back up Harmon at the point.

If b) was not a consideration, Jamal would be a permanent fixture in my starting lineup next year. He’s a high IQ player and a good defender who beings a lot to the game when he’s on the floor. He’s also so valuable as a back up at the point, I’m not sure LK will want him to start with De’Vion? Maybe someone I’m not thinking about right now will be able to play the point? Williams, for example, seems to have better handles and passing skills than I expected.

If JB keeps playing as well as he has, and his shooting progresses even minimally, Williams will have to be a heck of a player to keep him out of the starting lineup.

Exciting to think about what next year and the following year could bring, since Doo and Freeman will be the only seniors next year. That said, still a lot of good things that could happen this season!

Williams IS one heck of a player—on offense. But, judging by what I have seen of Alondes on video, Bieniemy gets my vote as the best defender. Experience on this year’s team is another advantage that can’t be ignored.

It’s going to be fun!

That would be a really good team that could make a deep run.

If Williams is as good as I've read, I'd bet on him starting over JB but I don't think it makes a lot of difference. Both will play a ton.

I think 2 years from now this team could make a legit #1 seed, Final 4 run. There'll be some adjustment next year and the freshman will have to adjust to the game, but in year 2 with all those guys except Doolittle back, Reaves & Manek will be seniors, this team will be stout.

I agree. Loaded squad.

Don’t forget Bienemy was a poor defender in high school. Emphasizing it and players knowing they have to play it to play makes a huge difference in effort.

I have no idea if Williams will be a good defender, but I’m not basing it off JUCO ball.

yes, and i think manek makes a strong push for poy. but then again, he may not even be the best on the team by then. but that’s the limb i am going out on.

really excited to see how Brady's game evolves next season and his senior year. I was afraid he'd always be a light-in-the-behind stretch 4 whose impact lived and died by his jumper. But he's really engaged and mixed it up this season and his rebounding has been excellent. I'd still like to see him make those post moves more but maybe thats the next step. He's making a solid contribution now and Rome wasn't built in a day.

JB needs to shoot the basketball more. Without looking, he may have the highest 3pt percentage on the team if not close. He has a smaller sample but many of those have rimmed out. I think he's focused on having a PG mentality right now because that's what the team needs(and he's doing very well), but the way he can handle, slash, and shoot.... I'd like to see how much he could score if he just tried a little more.
