Watching Baylor WV because I’m a fan of Big 1/ basketball...Kristy Wallace goes down with a what looked like to be bad knee injury...i kept wondering why isn’t Morris or Richards helping they have helped all year...but Mulkey just said those two freshman not playinhbfor discipline reasons. No matter what it seems keepnpicking Baylor but why do you want to put up with that kids you can’t count on? I know they are kids...but just leaves me scratching my head

Is anyone watching Baylor? Kallani Brown is dying out here you can tell she is hurting..Mulkey would refer if she gets hurt because she is too stubborn to play two freshman subs...those kids must of don’t something

I was watching OSU and TCU, at least in the first half. Watched Superior Donuts later. OSU won. So, we have to beat Texas or finish #4. That last second disallowance of Maddie's layup could decide #3 vs #4.

Superior donuts! i was afraid that layup would come back to haunt us! Lets hope to beat Texas!

It appears Kristi Wallace is finished for the year. Knee injury appears serious based on comments by Mulkey and other players.

If that is how it turns out, I hate that for her. We have had so much of that kind of thing I always feel bad when it happens to anyone.

Nope the refs didn't screw OU. Maddie traveled. Excuses are for losers. And losers always have the handy rather than look for real the reasons they lost. I didn't like the call at the time but the replay shows otherwise.

Are you implying that the only form of discipline that should be available to Kim
is to kick the girls off of the team? She suspended the girls. That is what coaches do when players violate team rules. She needed the girls because of injury. She did not waiver from her discipline when it would have been easy for her to do so based on this boards opinion of Kim that she will do anything to win. So instead we criticize her for the players she does recruit. Sounds like Kim success envy to me.

Not implying anything..i think kim is a good coach...just personally know way too much about the inside of the program and how Mulkey works but saying she is a bad coach i will not. She will twist or turn whatever situation to fit her. Last night she was just upset at Fresh for a minor infraction and was making an example. My point was it’s always something with the drama mama! She played five kids one of whom was about to fall over to prove they can persevere and left 3 time outs on table. Good coach again i just think the woman allows her personal agendas to rule the bear den.

In the first place, there is disagreement, and there was room for disagreement. I have seen that exact call go either way many times. What was rather curious is that it is usually a non-call late in the game since officials usually don't like to make a call that decides a game.

I say it could have gone either way, and in most cases, the call is not made with a second or two left.

The point is you want to continue to dwell on a call that you would have not made nor are you willing to say if was a bad call just that one not always made. A call vs a non-call happen 20-40 times a game and a call made in the first minute of a game that cost you 2 points impacts the final score and outcome just as much as a call going against you in the last minute.

It is called basketball. You get some calls and you don't get some calls. You don't worry about a past call you move on. Anything else is just looking for an excuse.

Your opinion. The point is that it was a call that is usually not made. I would be surprised if Texas made a shot under the same circumstances tonight if it would be waved off by the officials.

Didn't Baylor, OSU and Texas sweep us this year? I highly doubt any one call lost any of those games. And I agree the people trying to blame the refs for any of those losses are just looking for excuses. But I will give credit to SC she did beat the teams at or near the bottom of the big 12..which is better than the OU men

We live in a world in which women earn 70% as much as men, the poor have much less influence in a court of law than do the rich, and money represents greater opportunity. No part of life is equal. Yet, somehow in the midst of this culture of inherent bias, there is this belief that officiating in sports is pure and equal. You can't be serious?

So you saying baylor, osu and texas are richer than OU? Maybe OU needs to hire someone better to influence the refs

Is that the logical connection that you get? Interesting.
Anytime when Baylor is mention here there is little or no logic..I still don't understand why OU fans worry so much about baylor other than the game between the two. Baylor is on anther level at this time, we need to worry about beating teams that we can or worry when we get beat by teams that we shouldn't then worry about our program.

Well, it's nice that you want to defend Baylor. But, my reference was to a play during an OSU game and a general reference to the tendency of society not to be treat all equally

I suggest everyone takes a deep breath and uses your brain.

Everyone has biases. Everyone. Why in the world do you think fans from the two teams on the court see calls differently? Far differently in many cases. It is because of bias.

Here is the thing some try to ignore. Officials are people, and so they are also biased. Even if they try to control it, it has an impact. That is one of the reasons teams left the Big-12. They believed - and they were conference insiders - that the schools in Texas would be favored by officials - and conference leaders. That includes the head of officials, schedulers, etc. They all have to work very hard to keep bias out of the equation - and are guaranteed to sometimes fail. Some officials likely are 100% committed to fairness. Since they are people, some likely have other motivations. Just like people all over the world - as we are all aware.

If the head of officials has known biases, and you are an official depending on keeping him happy to keep making money, you can always find yourself tempted to be very careful to not hurt his favorite team/teams. Meaning it goes even further than just personal bias of a particular official.

I certainly do not think every game is determined by officials, but they frequently impact games. Sometimes because they are not good officials (some obviously are weaker than some others), and sometimes because their biases get in control.

There needs to be a time when officials have to sit down and publicly justify particularly bad calls. Or a case where a huge percentage of an officials calls (as high as 95% in some cases) favor the same team in a game. Could such a number happen at some point? Sure. But it would not be expected as a frequent occurrence. Knowing you would have to defend your calls would create some pressure to call the game as accurately as you possibly can. The main goal for everyone involved is to have games called fairly. Who seems to be most against discussing that in a public manner?
