This is not good news for the Cowgirls!

No. 11 junior guard Amber Ramirez (16-TX) has reopened her recruitment according to @SAFinestbball

Saw her in the semis. She is good, although not as good as she was in the first five minutes. She was the beat guard that I saw in the Texas state tournament. Quick.

Probably coincides with the assistant coach leaving. I've been told that Littell is not a good recruiter at all! Not much of a personality. The assistant that left was a very good recruiter that was able to connect easily with recruits.

Didn't she de commit from Baylor before?

Ramirez is different from the typical Baylor point guard.

Recee' Caldwell is the player i was thinking of...

So, is there any chance we are interested in her? I haven't been able to find anything that says where she might be going.

I'd note that we weren't even on her final list. I don't even know if we had any interest. If she was interested (and I'm not convinced her decomitting is final), there's no solid proof of it. No solid proof that we were interested in her.

We'd certainly have to do some juggling; someone would have to quit; or, again, we may think we are out of the Cox, Wilson, Holmes race.

On Edit: I have a post on scholarship availability in Norman's thread on the rosters for the upcoming years.

This was posted last fall. Her final list before she committed to Ok State.

Baylor, Texas , Ok State, Kansas State, Texas Tech, Colorado, Washington, UTSA, Ohio State. A source told me UCONN was in the mix but I'd doubt they still go after her since they just got a 2016 Verbal from PG Dangerfield

Does she still play AAU ball with Dungee?

Maybe she's just trying to get another offer from a school or two that didn't have their recruiting pan out.

I would love to have Rameriz. Add Cox and that would be an amazing duo.

I think both might be the best players in the country at their positions.

Even though I like Edwards and L.Williams, another point guard of her capabilities would be a big plus.

This articles stated that she was going to play shooting guard at OSU:

This is correct. She was recruited to play SG at OSU. This would allow OSU to (basically) have 2 PG on the floor at all times. Ro Johnson would be a Sr her freshman year. The plan was to have Jaden Hobbs take over at PG, allowing Ramirez to stay at SG.

With the loss of Ramirez, the future of OSU hoops seems to have taken a pretty big hit. 2015 recruiting was not impressive. And now 2016 is not looking good either.

OSU lost Liz Donohoe & Jones. I think they have 2 good replacements in place for Jones in Coleman and Jensen. In the 2016 class they need someone to replace Brittany Martin which will be BIG shoes to fill. Hopefully they can come up with something, but recruiting seems to have gone downhill after the loss of Budke and Serna.

We shall see who gets hired for the assistant coaching position and how that will help with recruiting.

For almost a half of the Texas 6A semi-final game, Amber was the best guard that I had seen. She disappeared somewhat in the second half. Of course, you can't shoot 100% from three forever. But, she is 5-8, an inch taller than Aaryn. Is that tall enough for a shooting guard?

I liked her a lot more than Ogwumike or the Skyline guards. Llanusa is a much better all-around shooting guard, and I don't know how good she is from three.
