Lets look at facts: won 20 games 4 years in a row at Illinois State. After getting
Vandy rolling has taken them to the tournament 5 of the last 7 years. Forgive me but I'll take the "balding fat man" that wins consistently over "young hip Jay-Z every player's best friend" that goes to the elite 8 with one of the best college players in a decade and then falls flat on his @$$ without him.

We have a choice of many coaches other than Capel to compare to hiring Stallings.

Stallings also doesn't have an athletic department to work with.

In 2009, Vandy threatened to cancel their Maui Tournament trip due to budget constraints...Stallings ponied up the money to go out of his own pocket.

OU could do a lot worse.

Buzz is still my top choice, but assuming that won't happen, I'd line em up this way:

Shaka Smart
Kruger

Not sold on Kruger being all that great, but he does get his teams to the postseason consistently, and I think that is a big step in rebuilding our program. I'd love to have a better name to replace him with, but I just don't know who that would be. I don't like Sendek. Don't care for Stallings. I could live with Terry Evans, but only as a last resort. I don't see Rose leaving BYU for OU.

So we're kind of running out ideas here.

Agreed...not a slam dunk "wow" hire, but one to re-set OU in the national picture for the future.
