Although this article doesn't tell the whole story, the author did a good job of analyzing a season of disappointing losses and close games that could easily have been wins if this team had learned what it takes to finish after the first loss or two.
I have said for sometime that leadership, or more correctly the total lack of a team leader, has been one of our biggest problems. I'm still hoping to see a player on this team accept that responsibility in a huddle by gathering his teammates around him to fire them up, or by getting in someone's face when it's time to step up the intensity. One might assume Jordan would be the obvious choice, but that's not part of his personality. Khadeem talked about being a leader in interviews early on. But leaders have to lead by example, something he has failed to do in some games. It's also hard to be a leader when you're watching the game from the bench with foul trouble.
I will continue to watch for someone to step up in today's game! If ever there was a time to do it, a game where a win could at least restore a bit of pride and perhaps signal a positive change in our season is there for the taking against a good TTU team later today. Someone! Anyone! I'll settle for one of our freshmen if the upperclassmen on this team don't want the job.
