As I posted in another thread yesterday, my sister is an OSU grad (vet), and she has a couple season tickets, pretty good seats too! She has invited me to come to the game, and I'm probably going to go even though I've always been superstitious in thinking that I'm bad luck with road games. :facepalm

I don't see them having the fire power to blow us out, so at the very least it should be a great/close game. If both teams performances carry over from the game in Norman, we will blow them out of GIA. Which would be cool to see, as I don't think we've won by more than 10 there in my lifetime - or atleast in my memory.

Anyone else making the trip? I was able to go watch the Maryland @ Osu game with her, because the Terps have always been my second favorite team (weird I know)... It was packed, and I have to admit that it was a really cool atmosphere to watch a game.

When GIA is packed there aren't many better basketball venues in the country... It's a great arena with a great basketball atmosphere.

You are a brave soul. ;)

He's just an OSU fan and very very poor at hiding it.

Nice to see your post count exploding the past couple days leading up to the OU game Dan just like the last game. Hopefully we stomp your Aggies again resulting in another AWOL.

Been reading the aggie press materials there, abd? The atmosphere you describe hasn't existed since Eddie left (and hadn't existed for many years before he arrived). Those few years were an anomaly, not the norm.

In any case, I won't be surprised if it's not even a full house tomorrow. Their sell-outs are few and far between these days (so are OU's, of course, but then we're not touted by the local media as the basketball school).

Correct, I haven't been to a game there since Eddie was there. Been to a few Bedlam games when it was Kelvin vs. Eddie. Atmosphere was always outstanding.

:ez-roll: I guess you missed all my posts in between Bedlam games... Not sure anything in this thread is pro-osu, your act is getting old.

Dan, you do post a lot.

I have been to all the Big 12 venues save Iowa State and WVU. Looking forward to getting to both someday. I've been to multiple games at both GIA and AFH, and GIA was the loudest arena I've ever watched OU get their ass kicked within. An absolutely incredible atmosphere when full. Must be the angle of the sitting.

I'll be there tomorrow night looking for a win.

I need to go up to go catch a game in AFH soon. We are due to get a W up there soon! Appreciate the input. I hope for our sake that we can keep that atmosphere to a minimum haha. Lets go get this W, and get the ball rolling on this tough stretch of games! :dance005:

it is a horrilble place to watch a game unless you are in the first 15 rows

I sat in the top row of the old GIA (1989). I didn't think it was bad. It was very steep but not bad. I was amazed at how loud it was because it was so much smaller than the LNC.

I remember going to a game in the late 80's with my oldest son who was maybe 10 at the time. We sat in the upper level just a few seats from where Coach Iba always sat. He visited with us for a couple of minutes before the game and I considered it an honor.

I liked going to games there. My most vivid memory was a bedlam wrestling dual. I was there with the step-father of an OU heavyweight wrestler. His son was leading a defending NCAA champ from OSU when in the last few seconds of the match, his son was reversed and pinned. The dad was crushed…… as was I who knew them both well. The place went nuts.

All of the wrestling banners in GIA were impressive.

I will be going tomorrow along with a couple of friends. First time watching a game at GIA, and it will be my first OU road game I have attended also. Pretty pumped about it! Hopefully it will be a good one to remember.

Denver, the old set up the TOP row was not very far up and were decent seats. In the new set up the upper areas are AWFUL. My old boss was an OSU grad from Texas and had season tickets. Every time he was in town to work he planned it around and OSU game if possible and took me with him. We saw games in the old arena and the new one so I am very familiar with the old and new set up
