I'm curious about how it was to be there in person, both good and bad.

I'm also curious if that bozo who had a courtside seat got ejected from the arena. That's the one who acted like he was going to attack the referee on that call that favored OU on that sideline. On TV, it looked like was getting a butt-chewing at the very least.

I think they escorted him out

I was there, and he was escorted out of the arena. First, he was taken to the tunnel, where he tried, unsuccessfully, to talk his way out of expulsion, and when he failed, he threw a fit and they walked him out.

BTW, unbelievable atmosphere. First "away" game I have gone to and it was amazing. Trust me, the entire crowd nearly went onto the court on that play. It was a classic "we are not calling a foul so we will give OU the benefit of the doubt" situation.

Unreal poise by the kids considering the environment. Every square inch of that gym had people in it.

Outside of Lattin, I thought everyone played well. Lattin has always been up and down, and in this one, he was down. Don't know how many bunnies he missed, but it was more than a couple.

I was there. My neighbor is a huge WSU fan and season ticket holder and got a bunch of tickets for all of us (mostly WSU fans). Same group as last year that made to OKC and we had about 5 suites between all of us. I sat at midcourt, about 10 rows up from the court in the middle of nothing but WSU fans. There were three of us OU fans sitting next to each other. The way their fans acted last year left a bad taste in my mouth, especially them leaving the arena. The crowd was deafening, mainly during the first few minutes (couldn't hear myself think). As OU took control of the game, the crowd got out of it a bit but there were still some times where they got pretty darn loud. Of course, I had a lot to cheer about and stood up and clapped and yelled throughout the whole game. No WSU fans said a word to me until about 3 minutes left in the game. A guy two rows down told me to sit down and shut up (all I did was yell Boomer towards the OU section below which did get a great response from them). I politely told him to turn around. After a few death glares, he finally turned around. Then, a lady behind me told me I was being disrespectful. I said "because I am cheering on my team?”. I then asked her if she was at the game last year. She didn't respond. I then asked her if your team was winning would you be standing up and cheering them on. No response. Finally, her husband told her I was fine and told her to sit down. Of course, there was a WSU lady a few seats away that was hammered and cussing for most of the game and no one said a word to her. After the game, we made it through the concourse with some high fives to other Sooner fans but we didn't act like WSU fans did last year walking out of the game. My 13 year old son did yell a few Boomers as we walked outside, but that was about it. Overall, I am glad I went. We had great seats and got to see a great game. My buddy (WSU friend) kept saying that OU is way more athletic than WSU, which was really noticeable at the game. I have a ton of other WSU friends that said OU just couldn't miss. Well, I believe OU had it worst team shooting performance of the year and still scored 91 points!! BOOMER!!!

I took my parents to the game (my dad is a '84 graduate of WSU) and had a blast. I've been going to games at the Roundhouse my entire life, and what our team experienced Saturday was identical to a game there. It was a road game.

I loved the way the team played and fought back against the typical 2nd half runs that WSU is known for when trailing. Great fan interaction for the most part. The guys in front of us wanted to know about Trae Young and were gracious in pregame trash talk and in a post game handshake.

Overall, a great Saturday in Wichita, ignoring the drunk wsu fan in the upper deck who yelled at every OU fan they took his families land...

BOOMER!

I was there as well. I didn't encounter a single rude WSU fan. There were a few "O Who's" before the game, but all I could do was laugh. Intrust is a great atmosphere. I've been there several times for concerts and other events, but never for a basketball game. I was curious what the atmosphere would be like and it was electric. I was disappointed there wasn't more red in the crowd, but those of us that were there made a little noise. Was a great win in front of a raucous crowd!

I was there and all the comments from WSU fans were polite. I was told several times on the way out we had a great team and all were impressed with Young. There were some WSU fans behind us grinching thought out the game but mostly about their own team never covering Manek and others behind the arc. Even at the restaurant afterwards, WSU fans stopped to compliment the Sooners. The WSU fan next to me told us before the game it had been agreed to keep the series going for two more years.

I hadn't realized it until it was advertised on the scoreboard during the timeout, but wichita is the site for 1st and 2nd round games. dallas as well. would love to play for a seed at one of those two venues. maybe the bandwagon fans will show up.

I live outside of Wichita and graduated from WSU. Fans were great for the most part. Had many shake my hand as they were leaving. Only complaint was I about got killed crossing the road. WSU fan switched lanes as I was crossing the road on purpose and yelled out his window. It was way too close and uncalled for.
Atmosphere was great and I plan on going to the NCAA tournament there this year.

I was at last year's and suffered through the WSU fans' antics. Wish I could have been there Saturday.

I guess I had a slightly different experience than some here. Most of the fans were nice. However, for the most part, the WSU fans were quiet / reserved for a lot of the game. Definitely not anywhere near as loud as games in a few other areans I have experienced (KU and ISU specifically). That might be because our section had a reasonable amount of OU fans and the WSU folks knew they were in trouble most of the game. I also experienced the drunk dude yelling that we stole his land and a few other "OU sucks" people when we were walking out. Overall, a fun game to be at. Afterwards, walking around in their bricktown area we had nice fan interactions. Really glad we made the trip from Kansas City.

KU fans are horrid. ISU has excellent fans.

100% horrid......and loud. Always fun to go watch OU play in Lawrence. Just wish we would win some every now and then. Maybe this year is our turn.

I guess I didn't know about that. I would have normally gone to that game, but my dad had just passed away a week earlier and I wasn't in the mood.

I posted about wanting to know how it went for OU fans, because I was curious about how it would be compared to what I've heard it's like to be an OU fan and/or grad in western Arkansas. It's been posted on several OU football sites that Arkie fans just hate OU, and we don't even play them in football except in bowl games. I've even heard the media in Fort Smith and Fayetteville are hostile where OU is concerned.

I also haven't forgotten a rather amusing anecdote that James Hale posted on his site last summer. He was visiting Hot Springs and was wearing a polo with OU on it. Some Arkie fan struck up was was mostly a polite conversation, but he then told Hale that Baker Mayfield was "overrated, and couldn't start for us (Arkansas)..." :facepalm And I'll bet that same Piglet fan still believes it.

should have gone...grew up in Wichita, folks still there. Always liked WSU...back in the 80's.

Hopefully make it to ku..got plenty of ku folks..but tickets hard to come by. Went a few years ago..Bookout, Taj and Co. We were up at half then couldn't finish.

DEFINITELY going to Big12 this year. It's always close to spring break and we normally can't take off...screw it. TY won't be here next year..ugh~

Might try ISU depending on when...

Maybe next year for OU-WSU III. I did see them play a couple of times in Amarillo when West Texas State (now WT A&M and a D-2 school) was in the Mo Valley (circa 1982). They had some "under the radar" kid who impressed me more than some of their McDonald's All-Americans. That would have been Xavier McDaniel.

Still wondering: what exactly did their fans do in OKC that was so offensive? It's water under the proverbial bridge, but it has me curious. I can't stand poor winners, which is why I hated Colorado so much back in the 1990's in football.
