I didn't watch the game, but it's pretty easy to keep a guy in front of you if you if you know he isn't going to shoot unless he has a layup (a form of the stall offense).
And maybe the Union kid is a good defender, but doesn't score it well enough to play anywhere good. Or maybe it was just one or two games. Scouts obviously feel VERY differently about these kids than you do.
That makes no sense, so what you are saying is the coach decided he couldn't beat Union without stalling so they held the ball? What about in the first quarter, or the 4th quater when they needed a basketball they couldn't get it? They only score 2 fgs the last like 18 minutes, they were not stalling but for about 6 min. In other words, they went about 12 minutes where all they got were a layup that Union gave them so they didn't foul at the end, and a put back layup. If they are supposed to be so good, they would have scored more.
Doesn't score it well enough? Or doesn't try to score? He was the MVP of the state tournament. He scored 30 against BTW in the area finals. He locked down everyone in the state tournament. He guarded the best player on the floor every night in a perfect season for Union. His problem was he didn't play for a good AAU team, and he is young for his grade while also being unselfish. I don't think he is KU good, but he could easily play for Tulsa or even be the back up pg for OU RIGHT NOW!
