Hmm....

Not much interest in Baylor basketball..... :ez-laugh: ;) :ez-laugh:

About the only game (OSU - BU) not on TV - even online.

Does KM always use lots of profanity? I was surprised the other day to see her cussing in her post game comments.... I guess the Baptists have truly gone off the deep end. Wow!

I'm watching the online video through my tv. There are currently 1,974 other online viewers. Baylor is collapsing in on OSU's Jensen.

Baylor leads 46-19 at the half.

Baylor made a putback after time had clearly expired to end the half. Dee Kantner emphatically waived it off. Coach Mulkey demanded that it be reviewed. :ez-laugh:

What a simple minded thread we have here... smh :facepalm

I did think Cox had one of her best games in this one. 13 points and 6 rebounds in just 19 minutes. She also hit a very nice 3.

I do notice that Nina Davis is not getting as much playing time as she did in the past. Any idea why? Is it just caused by more competition from the bench, or is she doing something to frustrate KM?

Lauren was also 6 for 15. You kind of want your big men to shoot over 50%.

Davis always was best at garbage time, kind of like what Maddie is beginning to do---e.g., the lost ball by Chelsea that Maddie turned into two. They just aren't going to Davis like they did. They have a bunch inside now.

Texas is clobbering TCU. 32-21 at the half.

Yeah it looks like Davis has lost a step and it could be open as to who will win Big12 POY. You expect her to be at the top of the other team scouting report, but she has really improved since her sophomore year...

And I'd like to point out it's not about a lack of humor, its funny some poster make comments about this turning in to A Baylor board, and then a tread like this is started for pretty much nothing...

I agree, Syb--you want your bigs to hit at least 50% from the field. Kinda like the #1 BU post Kalani Brown, who was 4-6 from the field and 9-9 from the stripe, and #2 post Bea Mompremier, 5-8. Depending on the situation or chemistry, Lauren Cox, along with Kadijah Cave is the #3 post option for BU. BTW, Cox started out 4-6, then like the entire BU squad, botched a bunch of shots after Baylor surged ahead of OSU by 42. Had BU maintained their fire, this game could have been much uglier

And surely, Syb, you don't consider Davis just a garbage player. Those basketball professionals who voted her an All American in her soph and jr years considered much more than that. As for her minutes this year, please see above. KM has more weapons to deploy than ever before. Davis has sat in on several past game pressers and her go-to message is something like this: I'm thrilled to see my teammates succeeding and this team dominating opponents. We have our sights set on championships. ... So, no, Sweets, there's nothing to suggest she is inMkwy's doghouse.

Sweets, not sure what you mean about Kim's potty mouth. I saw one utterance of "Hell" in a transcipt... not sure that qualifies as reprobation. I hear college coaches say that word every week, but perhaps ,
female coaches are expected to be more ladylike...

But enough about BU-- Sherri and the Sooners face a huge test tomorrow at WV. Winning there is always a tall order, but if OU can earn a W it should have HUGE implications for the rest of the season.

Texas won this one 83 - 54.

Karen Aston's 200th win. Pretty impressive. I like Karen. Excellent coach, always gracious in her remarks, etc.

I noticed the announcers pointed out that TCU has had it's worst shooting games in a long time both today - and against OSU last time out. They couldn't even hit wide open shots at times.

Yes, I do consider Davis to be a garbage player. That is a compliment. A garbage player is, as per the example that I cited, one who seems to find the ball and be able to do something with it. Other players may get possession. A garbage player turns adversity into points. Davis is one player that I like from Baylor, the first really since Morrow and Sophia.

I take no offense to Nina being a garbage player. It's actually a pretty accurate assessment of her playing style. Nina's production started to fall last year with the introduction of Brown and MP. She was moved from the post where she thrived at mop up duty to the wing which continues to be a learning curve. It's difficult to grab boards being so far from the paint. Nina still runs the floor well and will continue to get fast break points but will not be leaned on for points or a pivotal bucket.

Maybe the TV folks didn't think it would be a decent game with one being so over matched. Happens when you are light years ahead of the rest in the big 12. I have no clue if KM uses profanity or not..all I know is that she is the best coach in the big 12 and it's not even close
