There's no doubt that Lon looked beyond the resume to make this hire. He knows what kind of person/coach his son is, and I think he could be the right man for the job.

And maybe more importantly than that, Lon knows that Kevin knows how Lon coaches, runs practices, and runs the program.

There was already talk of Kevin out there helping Cousins with his shot his freshman year. Kevin sounds like a good teacher in that way, and we need a guy like that on staff. I'm sure the other hire will be more of a guy that maybe is known for recruiting.

Absolutely! It's simply not possible that he has the qualities that Coach Kruger was looking for in an assistant and Lon surely doesn't have a clue of his upside, what he's capable of going forward.

Yeah, Lon should have included an Assistant Coach Survey with that Thank You letter to the fans. Then, he could have hired who the fans wanted.

I sent in my recommendation. But I didn't get hired :-( of course I have no idea what I'm doing but I would have had some incredible seats for the games...
