Attendance at the game

It looks like there's a lot people there, surely more than last years opening game.

Can anyone who's at the game give us an estimate?

3k or so, student section isn't bad

It's about what it has been in the past for exhibitions, IMO.

Attendance in the box score shows 3192, not bad given that its still OU basketball, coming off a 13-18 record and its an exhibition game.

I still had a lot of fun but overall it seemed really empty. No big deal, just my personal observation. Was my first time attending an OU basketball game so I have no prior knowledge of what's good and bad w/ regards to attendance.

Its sadly the norm for non-conference games. I would expect most non-conference games to be between 4-6K this year. With regular conference games (OSU, UT and KU are exceptions) somewhere around 10k (hopefully). The LNC half empty or more is going to be a too common sight this year.

Bad team no crowd. Capel has destroyed this program. Can he bring it back???

He sure complained a lot while sitting on the bench the entire game. There must be a reason for it cause he sure wasn't helping the team by calling shots. I assume he wanted to see how his players dealt with adversity and all the mishaps on their own.

Destroyed? Strike 1.

Sampson destroyed this program with his rampant cheating. Do you remember what he left us with?

Capel has kept it off life support.

The attendance will obviously be better, but just looking around it sure didn't look like 3000+. It surely wasn't after halftime, the exodus out the doors was enormous.

I was thinking around 1500-2000, but am glad I was on the low end. I've been to h.s. basketball games with 200 people in a 2500 seat gym, so attendance doesn't really matter to me, but for the sake of team morale I'm glad it will be better in reg. season and conference play (and I knew it would, I've seen the LNC pretty packed on TV before).

Honestly who gives a crap? It was an exhibition game. It really doesn't matter to me how many people show up to watch us play Uganda Tech.

I don't know about you guys, but I would be more inclined to attend an exhibition game if they were playing Uganda Tech. A close second would be Laos A&M.

Sampson did sure destroy the program by leaving players like austin johnson, taylor griffin, david godbold, longar longar, nate carter. OU's starting five with players left from Sampson are better than the starting five OU has this year.

We havent played a game yet. Lets see how this plays out over the next 6 weeks before we start with the doom and gloom.
