The beginning of the end?

I was just looking at Houston’s schedule. They are in the middle of three straight Saturday road games. They play six Saturday roadies and four home. I guess we can just pencil them in for a few losses.

I've been screaming for this for years. Even when my season tickets would have been negatively affected. I really think the students should be from basket to basket on the TV facing side for the first 10-15 rows. It would look better on TV and be MUCH better for the overall atmosphere. It would also likely lead to better student attendance because the atmosphere would make it fun.

My daughter is at Arizona. She can't get tickets to most of the big games because of the popularity. Sure would be nice to have that problem.

They pushed the lowest five or so rows in on the sides and put maybe three rows of risers in that weren’t very high (so the season ticket holders above wouldn't have to stand) and zero seating. It was also away from the main student section. I went down there once as a student. It was fine, but limited by the design of the arena.

I think the idea here is to keep seats as is and allow students to use them.

Agree...due to the circular floor you felt so far away as a student sitting in that section. I think I was in that section for the griffin vs beasley matchup.
I preferred the behind the basket section for students. Still isn't ideal

Blurry picture but the students were behind the OU branded fencing and in front of the seats. Behind the scorers table and a walking path. This was from 05-06, so I was wrong on start year.

I went down there for the Texas Tech game the same season that Longar was ejected. We printed and taped a large Longar picture and took it down there. I may or may not have given Knight a hand gesture during the introductions.

I hate doing this, but here is a look at my scoring system with Sam Godwin year over year, starting with Wofford to now:

Godwin Stats.PNG

This is not me saying I don't like Godwin, he has been consistent since day 1. Has not improved, has had to carry a team when he shouldn't have to at the 5 spot. I think he is better fit as a bench big or a G5 starter. My opinion, happy to have disagreement.

The good news? He hasn't gotten worse and his defensive rating, although be helped by OOC games right now, is better than it was the last 3 years. (again, I think that will even out the more SEC games we play.) But the dude is just outmatched out there.

That being said, based on my scoring system, he is 5th on our team OVR. Behind Wague, Moore, Fears, and Miles. Then there is a BIG gap ... then Goodine. Wague also has minimal minutes, in more time he (Wague) may come back down, but man is his PER high.

I loved being on the floor center court. Stood the whole game, we had some good loud crowds. Got on TV all the time, especially with our Bucknell shirts while playing Kansas. Putting the students behind the basket where the jazz band plays is a damn shame. (could say the same about the product on the floor, but I digress...)

Not sure how it sounded on TV, but UGA's crowd got really loud at times. I found out from a couple fans that: 1) it's the largest crowd they've had all season (students weren't back from break for the UK game, and 2) this is the first season they've allowed/moved the students to the lower level section they were in on the side/corner, all the way to the floor. Having them there and their pep band in the next section over behind the basket made a big difference in terms of noise, atmosphere, etc.
