Bad coaching by Lon

Last five minutes of the first half, the lineup that Lon had in cost OU the game.

This is exactly correct, you can't have that group on the floor for any extended minutes against a team with that kind of athletic ability. That 16-2 run gave La Tech the confidence they needed to win the game. The weird part is that no one sans Hield was in foul trouble at the time. That group could not score nor defend La Tech's athletes. I agree with Gary that Kruger seemed to want a loss going into conference play.

This was not a good confidence wise going into conference play. I fear a run of losses with at Texas, KU, ISU, and at KSU. A really good start in conference play was a necessity this year.

I did not mean to infer that Kruger wanted a loss. His stated goal was to win and improve.

Kruger wasn't doing anything new. He has been rotating the bench in liberally no matter the score, opponent or circumstance since he got here. I don't understand why he does some of the things he does. That doesn't mean that he is wrong. It just means that I don't understand.

just a request .... can you ask makin if he meant to bank in the 3 last night ..

from my angle .. i am pretty sure that he did it on purpose ..

Sure, I probably won't make it to practice until Friday at the soonest. If not then, It will be next week sometime. I'm curious too.

What is the deal with Kruger in Overtime games? He is now 0-4 at OU. Capel was 7-0 in overtime games at OU. When it went to overtime you always felt we would win. Now it seems like overtime games never go our way even at home against LTech

Never mind the previous 3 were AT aTm, AT osu and AT Texas.

Last nights may be cause for concern (very little) but the other 3 are not. Sorry.

Was about to post the same thing. Poor choice with those 5 in for that long.

In your opinion, of course.

I tend to think LK has a method to the madness. Considering our post depth and depth overall, maybe LK is trying to preserve some of these guys for later in the season.

Or, maybe he's using a game that has very little meaning to the season to develop some depth for later in the season?

Or, just maybe he made a mistake but considering his success over the years, I'm willing to say it was either the first or second or both.

Its not going to be a good night when your PG has 2 assist and 8 turnovers.

But the common denominator in 3 of the 4 losses is that OU had a double digit lead, 11pts @ OSU (in 2nd half), 22 @ Texas (in 2nd half), and 14 at home against La. Tech.

Come tournament time, this loss won't be a bad loss, but it could have been a key win that would help out OU's resume. Against the 2nd best team OU has faced, it was the wrong time to experiment with that lineup for so long.

It was definitely a key stretch but rather than pointing the finger at Kruger for the lineup, I would like to see some defensive toughness from those guys when they are in the game.
