I hope he stick around. For now, I'd take this rumor with a grain of salt. Let's hope Jelon knows how important he is. He brought consistency that Woodard didn't at the end of the season.

I hope it isn't Jelon. He's very important to the team even if he is just a 6th man. And he'll probably play a bit more next year with Clark being gone giving more time for a guard to play. He might be our best defensive guard right now.

Hopefully Hornbeak doesn't leave but I think we can replace his 3 points per game. Hornbeak was awful last year. Losing anyone else would hurt more. Half of hornbeaks career is over and he has been a total bust given his 4 star status.

Not doubting this... I speculated this early this year...

Nike weren't you banned from the site for awhile for pretending to be someone you weren't??

Exactly. Who in the world could be upset with their playing time?

Why even keep a thread like this alive, Admin? Outside observer here, but don't think it's good for anyone. How many people, if even for a split second, question their playing time, college decision, coach, major, etc.?

Are you saying its Hornbeak? Who is your source? You have been caught being deceitful in the past.

Hopefully it is nobody.

I agree. tHis particular poster should be gone. He is useless. He writes like a child, he lies like a child and I would guess he is a child.

This reminds me of when I broke the news that Ryan Humphrey was transferring from OU. Not a single person believed me. A few days later, Hump announced he was leaving.

Now, I didn't have the credibility issues that nike has, and that makes a difference.

Would it shock me if Hornbeak wanted to leave? Not at all. He came to OU with dreams of being our starting SG. Now, that appears to be a pipe dream. He is our backup PG, and any minutes he would get in 2015-2016 at SG, would likely be off the bench as well. I've never understood why OU fans wouldn't understand why that would make a kid want to transfer. I understand it completely.

That said, I hope he doesn't leave. Doubt we could get our hands on a decent backup pg at this point in recruiting, and we don't really have such an option on our current roster. Cousins would be terrible in that roll, as he was as a frosh.

I'd actually be surprised if he didn't transfer. A friend and I were talking about it earlier this year.

WT, I was working at the Daily when Humphrey transferred. That was an interesting story with a lot of back stories to it. No one on the team was disappointed he left. Not a one.

I heard he had an ego, and wasn't an ideal teammate.

I found out from his old HS teammates that played for TU. I was going to school there at the time, playing pickup ball one afternoon, and I overhead Marcus Hill and Antonio Reed talking about it. It may not have disappointed anybody that he left, but it was a shock to our fans.

No doubt. I was shocked at how "meh" his teammates were about it. I ran into a few at Mr. Bill's that night and they all said good riddance. Guys you'd think wouldn't be so open about that.

As for Jelon, he had a tough year. If he's in the plans, I hope he stays. If he's not in the plans, I hope he goes and finds a spot where he can be in the plans. At the end of the day, he's not going to be a star at Oklahoma.

He played on an elite HS team with Austin at Baylor...sitting on the bench probably isn't something he is used to. If he does transfer, wish him the best.

I don't think this at all. I'm guessing that next year he will be a 35% 3pt shooter and he can make plays. PLus he is actually a good defender. Great guard to have off the bench. He wasn't awful either, considering he was coming off an injury.

I would have said the same about Stacy King after his sophomore season. It's far too early to write Jelon off, whether he stays or goes.

he also got terrible advise ... he transferred because he (or those with influence over him) saw his game being like scottie pippen (actual quote) .. and OU was not letting him play that way ..

so of course he goes to ND and plays the 5 ... and then goes to the nba and plays the 4/5 ..

I still remember the story about him after a victory over OSU in Stillwater. As you can imagine, there was a huge post-game celebration in the lockerroom. He didn't participate at all because he was po'd about his minutes and stats. That's all he cared about.

I was lucky enough to be friends and play with all of the guys listed here. I talked to Marcus about this also and he confirmed what I expected it to be.

Ryan was an okay guy, just a little different. He was confident, but what guy that is being recruited at the level doesn't.

The main reason Ryan left was he wasn't the man at OU anymore with Eduardo. Most of that was started by his father. Ryan's dad also thought Ryan was a guard and that he would be able to play that at ND. Ryan didn't have that skill set, but was an incredible athlete that could play the 4.

What a lot of people didn't know was Ryan tried to sign with Tu right before he signing date. Bill told him he didn't have any scholarships left to give.

Yep, I remember you telling me that before.

I think it worked out for everybody. Ryan enjoyed some success at ND. And OU moved forward and had some pretty good teams the next couple of years. Something to think about, but OU might not have landed Ace had Hump stuck around. I think their time on campus would have overlapped.

I agree. Hump is back in Tulsa I believe.
