Did you see the Mayor say we are going to give those that want to destroy the space to destroy? Then she attacked the media and said she didn't say it. She absolutely said it and to me it seemed like she meant it rather than misspoke. The action of the police made it look like it was the policy to not engage rioters.

I saw some other person from Baltimore saying apparently the young people just dont know how to participate in a civil rights protest as if they are just misunderstood. It is absurd. The kids handed out flyers saying they were going to have a Purge. It wasn't a protest, it was criminal activity.

Ferguson could look like a playground fight compared to baltimore

They need to prosecute those that posted about a purge for inciting a riot and prosecute those that participated for rioting. However I bet they do nothing. They also need to prosecute the cops that arrested that man and broke his spine. It is not murder but it probably is manslaughter.

The Mayor should be gone.

It was laughable that the mayor tried to pin it on the media. If she used the wrong words initially it would have been easy for her to admit she misspoke but she didn't want part of that, which was irresponsible for anyone, mayor or not. It seems they didn't learn much from Ferguson either which is another level of irresponsibility.

Tough love.

VIDEO: Mom Caught Hitting Son Taking Part in Baltimore Riots

http://washington.cbslocal.com/2015...o-hitting-son-taking-part-in-baltimore-riots/

BALTIMORE (CBSDC/AP) — One Baltimore mother was caught on video dragging out her son who was taking part in the Baltimore riots. The unnamed mother was shown on television smacking her son — who was dressed all in black — for taking part in the riots against police and businesses Monday afternoon and dragging him away. Baltimore Police Commissioner Anthony Batts even acknowledged the mother’s actions during a press conference early Tuesday morning. “And if you saw in one scene, you had one a mother who grabbed their child who had a hood on his head and she started smacking him on the head because she was so embarrassed. I wish I had more parents who took charge of their kids tonight,” Batts said.

^ That particular video illustrates a mother figure acting in a responsible manner as it relates to one of her children. The thing is the media and society are reacting like it's a foreign, alien act when it should be viewed as normal and not an eye opening moment for most. When someone displays proper behavior it should be seen as "well that's supposed to be how it is and why is this news" as opposed to "did that person just reinvent the wheel."

How about this. Stop killing unarmed young black men. Period. This kid did nothing. They chased him down, tackled him and arrested him for nothing. Then broke his spinal cord, refused him medical attention and he died. The pieces of garbage that did this and anybody who defends them deserve whatever violence happens.

Like the old fat turd murderer n Tulsa. A mistake? Screw you old man. He should be killed like the worthless piece of garbage he is. Drag him out in the street and beat him to a pulp. Maybe then ignorant white trash will get the message. Darren Wilson? White trash garbage. George Zimmerman? Garbage.

How about this. If you hicks want to carry guns you are required to wear a body camera to record your every move.

These rioters are not even giving time to sort it out. It happened less than two weeks ago. He died on sunday.

I don't think one person believes that what happened to freddie was right. or what happened to the guy in tulsa was right. You can't go rioting to get your way. It takes away from the cause.

And again, don't act like Freddie was a saint. He ran from teh police for a reason and he has a list of unlawful behavior. That isn't a reason to do to him what the police did but still, all of these incidences have a common theme. Past and present criminals running from police disobeying simple orders. Not saying it is always right, but don't run from the cops. bad **** happens

Bounce, saying "don't run from the cops" justifies their violence. That's exactly what the roided up cop said to the guy in Tulsa as he gasped for breath dying of a gunshot wound. He said, and I quote " F your breath, you shouldn't have run". Are you kidding me? Is he even being prosecuted or just the old fart who pulled the trigger?

You can totally understand the helpless outrage of these young kids. Instead of assassinating the character of the dead unarmed victims how about we take a stand against killing unarmed people. Period. The South Carolina case if the perfect example. The guy was running away and the police officer shot him in cold blood. He gave the exact same story as both Zimmerman and Wilson claiming the guy supposedly going for his gun. He was going to get away Scott free except fortunately a bystander had him on video.

This stuff has to stop once and for all. Just imagine how helpless these kids feel.

No it doesn't. Not at all.

go turn on the tv. these aren't just kids rioting and looting. these are adults.

i agree it has to stop. I think rioting acomplishes absolutely nothing. It actually hurts the cause.

Yeah, when I'm feeling hopeless, I always turn to violence and rioting.

Did you see what appeared to be a video taken from a helicopter of a man being chased by a group of officers in California? Once caught he was beaten by numerous officials. Do you remember the skin color of the apprehended person?

And if you witness or feel something which is wrong then you have two choices before you as you can react in a positive manner or a negative manner. The looting and burning of businesses belonging to complete strangers of the rioters helps no one but hurts many in the process.

Does that go for black on black killing as well? Or how about black on white killing?

Because there is FAR more of both of those than there are white cop on black person killings. FAR. Not even close. Should I go riot next next week b/c I'm sick of black crime?

Stupid.

And yet, they'll continue getting away with this. Looting. Burning down buildings. Theft. Assault. Doesn't matter b/c they are "protesting".

And don't lump Darren Wilson and Zimmerman into the same category as the Baltimore cops and the Tulsa Sheriff. Wilson and Zimmerman weren't in the wrong, based on the evidence I've seen. Especially Wilson. Laughable to say he did anything wrong.

Just an FYI, in case some wish to say “thank you conservatives” for what has happened in the City of Baltimore. Baltimore has had an unbroken string of Democratic Party mayors since 1967. It is a city dominated by the Democratic Party, in a state dominated by the Democratic Party.

Does the City of Baltimore have a racist police force? I don’t know. It is led by Sheriff John W. Anderson, a highly experienced and decorated law enforcement professional that has held the office of Sheriff of Baltimore since his appointment by former Governor William Donald Schaeffer (D-MD) in 1989.

Orioles COO John Angelos offers eye-opening perspective on Baltimore protests

By Ted Berg April 27, 2015 9:40 am ET

After protests in Baltimore over the death of Freddie Gray turned violent on Saturday, Baltimore sports-radio broadcaster Brett Hollander took to Twitter to argue that demonstrations that negatively impact the daily lives of fellow citizens are counter-productive. Orioles COO John Angelos, son of owner Peter Angelos, seized the opportunity to respond with a qualified and brilliant defense of those protesting.

You can read the whole thing in Angelos’ Twitter replies, but it’s transcribed here for clarity. It’s all here because it’s all so good. Read the whole thing:

Brett, speaking only for myself, I agree with your point that the principle of peaceful, non-violent protest and the observance of the rule of law is of utmost importance in any society. MLK, Gandhi, Mandela and all great opposition leaders throughout history have always preached this precept. Further, it is critical that in any democracy, investigation must be completed and due process must be honored before any government or police members are judged responsible.

That said, my greater source of personal concern, outrage and sympathy beyond this particular case is focused neither upon one night’s property damage nor upon the acts, but is focused rather upon the past four-decade period during which an American political elite have shipped middle class and working class jobs away from Baltimore and cities and towns around the U.S. to third-world dictatorships like China and others, plunged tens of millions of good, hard-working Americans into economic devastation, and then followed that action around the nation by diminishing every American’s civil rights protections in order to control an unfairly impoverished population living under an ever-declining standard of living and suffering at the butt end of an ever-more militarized and aggressive surveillance state.

The innocent working families of all backgrounds whose lives and dreams have been cut short by excessive violence, surveillance, and other abuses of the Bill of Rights by government pay the true price, and ultimate price, and one that far exceeds the importances of any kids’ game played tonight, or ever, at Camden Yards. We need to keep in mind people are suffering and dying around the U.S., and while we are thankful no one was injured at Camden Yards, there is a far bigger picture for poor Americans in Baltimore and everywhere who don’t have jobs and are losing economic civil and legal rights, and this makes inconvenience at a ballgame irrelevant in light of the needless suffering government is inflicting upon ordinary Americans.

Gray, a 25-year-old Baltimore resident, suffered a spinal injury while in police custody after his arrest on April 12 and died seven days later. Six city police officers have been suspended pending an investigation into Gray’s death.

is he saying this is all the fault of businesses moving over seas?

yeah, argued with a couple of people earlier who claimed that "parental violence like that woman hitting her son was what caused these riots in the first place".

I couldn't let that idiocy go. If I have to beat the stuffing out of my kid to keep him from getting shot then I will pack a lunch and get after it.

The violent reaction is wrong. The dissent MUST be non-violent. The simple fact that the media isn't covering the peaceful protesters at all should show them WHY violence is wrong.

If every parent came over and smacked their kid outta the violence line then maybe we'd have some sense kicked into that group.

The headline of this thread is propaganda. The headline should read BALTIMORE POLICE BRUTALITY. That is the real issue. Everything is simply a distraction from the underlying crime.

White trash cops killing unarmed people. If it was being taken seriously and addressed the byproducts of the criminal police would go away.
