Baylor @ ISU

As if watching on a crappy feed wasn't bad enough, Baylor's "brand" of basketball makes my stomach turn. Hey Coach Drew...coach!!!

ISU up 2 at half. That Kane guy for the Clones looks pretty darn good.

Flood aggy wins by 15. They look really good.

I think ISU had some major flood that flooded most of of their campus including Jack Trice and Hilton

Happens every once in a while with snowmelt, etc. About once a decade. Still kind of a weird name to give them. Corn Aggy? I get that.

HILTON is a rocking place.

We need a new arena.

Hilton isn't new. The LNC was widely considered one of the toughest venues in all of college basketball in the mid to late 80s. It has nothing to do with the LNC and everything to do with our fans.

Excuse me... Fairly updated Hilton. I agree we need fans for sure. but a better seating arrangements would make it a lot better.

My guess would be no.

That's certainly the case now. But if LK can bring the program into national prominence again, there is always the possibility the students (other fans, too, for that matter) might respond on a grand scale.

That brings up another question. Will the powers that be at OU make a commitment by renovating the LNC in a "build it and they will come" kinda move?

If that happens someday, I would like to see an arena similar to Hilton in the photo, minus the nose bleed section at the top. OU does not need a 12,000 plus basketball facility. Make it smaller, say 9,000 to 10,000, like Cameron Indoor. That way fans feel as if they're close to the action no matter where they sit.

Perhaps I am strange but I have never once gone to a sporting event or concert based on the venue. I also don't think I have ever not gone to a sporting event or concert based on the venue.

I get why teams want club level and suites. The reason is they make more money off those areas of the stadium. However, I don't understand the argument by the average fan why that has any impact on the atmosphere.

The venue can make the atmosphere better.
The atmosphere can keep people coming back.
You may be above that, but that's just the realities of the world, especially today.

In the 80s there was no Internet to follow the game on. No big screen HDTV to watch it on. Going to the game was the best way to experience it. For a lot of people, that's not the case now.

I drive 3 hours six Saturdays every fall to attend OU football games because the atmosphere is great. I grew up a Dallas Cowboys fan, and attended every game for the last 15 years of Texas Stadium. I live half an hour from their new stadium, and I will never go to a game there because the atmosphere blows.
