In spite of the officials trying to give it to Baylor, West Virginia came from behind, what else to win by 3. They ignored a total wipeout on a screen and then called the 5th foul on Busse when she clearly had a clean block on Sims.

I hate it how the officials protect the stars. Their skills give them enough of an advantage without the officials giving them the benefit of the doubt. It's like if Sims misses a shot then someone must have fouled her.

Suprisingly Kim took the loss relatively calm.

Last two calls against WV were terrible, and they still ended up winning. Baylor's first conference home loss in four years. Congrats to the Mountaineers!

Would sure like to see Iowa State upset Sulkey Tuesday in Ames and WVU beat Kansas at home and knock Baylor out of a tie for the top spot.

Looked really awkward when Kim tried to console her daughter after she fouled out at the end.

You are right. It didn't look like a loving mother-daughter relationship.

West Virginia is a good team and will beat some good teams in the NCAA Tourney. Gonna be a tough game in Ames, but I think we come out with a share of conference title which a very impressive accomplishment considering our youth and where most predicted where we would finish!!

Baylor was predicted to finish second. West Virginia was predicted to finish third. Climbed all the way from being an unranked team, to the number 7 team. I'd say that's a greater accomplishment.

Yes, WVU has performed well but not that difficult with only 4 underclassmen to our 8.

You are the "king of excuses. Hope WVU beats you again if you play.

I give credit when due just believe in my team as any fan would and facts are different from excuses. Yep, we might see them again in the championship game of B12 tourney.....somewhere foreign to the Sooners.

Really? Mulk, I've got my concerns about OU WBB and have had them for awhile, but I think you punched below the belt on that one and furthermore...you're wrong! We are not "FOREIGN" to B12 tourney championship games. When we go, we typically win! Therefore, it is not "FOREIGN" to us. We've been there and won. Be careful not to get to haughty because it was not long ago that OU was handing it to Baylor on a regular basis...some very good basketball I might add. Let's not forget that SYoung was awarded the POY award in 2006 based on seniority versus production and merit (see link below). It has not been that long that we've forgotten. Be careful. If we get our recruiting and development acts together Baylor could be facing the battles with OU again...

Good post!!

Looking forward to it but now enjoying a FOURTH straight conference title for the LadyBears!! Sic'em!!

Probation from what? making NCAA Tourney.....nope, recruiting......nope, so really it's meaningless and no one even talks about it outside of Norman. If it was really serious then wouldn't commentators and even other coaches talk about it during broadcasts?

I see supporters of other schools that have Baylor's probation as their signature line over on HoopScoop. Don't delude yourself, when Michelle Voepel and the Washington Post come down on your coach's ethics, you are seeing what the rest of the nation thinks. Voepel is very well known, and she is writing what a lot of people are thinking.

Strange how she picks Kim as coach of the year.....hmmmmmm

I would be disappointed in Michelle if she did do that. I could see it as "balanced reporting." But, there was no balance in what she wrote about Kim's influence on women's basketball.

I'm actually rather fascinated that the members of a "ethical university" would support her. I guess it's one of those, "our crook" things.

Voepel says that Mulkey is the ESPNW "unanimous pick" to be honored as coach of the year in the big 12.

Big 12: Kim Mulkey, Baylor (25-4, 15-2)

Having lost four starters and her top reserve, Mulkey remade Baylor into a team that plays very differently than it did the past few years. With less height and veteran savvy inside, she built this squad around point guard Odyssey Sims. And Mulkey, our unanimous pick, was able to get key performances from younger and less-experienced players. -- Mechelle Voepel

and also, Voepel says that Mulkey is "deserving of a lot of accolades."

It should make Baylor fans proud that one of the members of each of the two national titles teams has indicated that Baylor is no longer among their favorite places.

At some point, you may gain an understanding that the fact that UConn has won so many titles results in respect, while what Kim has done at Baylor results only in contempt.
