I don't know how we got to within 75-68 before Baylor hit about 3 of ten free throws in the last thirty seconds to make it a ten-point win.. We led 13-12, and the next thing I knew we were behind by ten. We trailed 40-28 at the half, but made it back to 53-50 in the third before letting them have a quick ten point lead back. It never did get above about thirteen points, but it also never got within three.

Kay Kay and Maddie couldn't hit anything. Kay Kay did get nine rebounds, and Maddie got four steals. But, we needed someone who could score. Baylor had the Davis/Jones combination for 49. Vivi was not yet the threat that she has become, and it was early for Gioya. We did shoot OK from three which kept us in the game.

I think Baylor is better. But, I think that we match up OK with them if we sub Vivi more often. She has to have more than ten minutes. Kay Kay just doesn't perform well against tall posts. Maddie needs to be Maddie, the same as she has been in three of the past four games (WV, not so much, Injury?). Gioya and Peyton need to contribute. If we can get some scoring from one of those in a slump, we can play Baylor even on our home floor. We also need our posts to hit the boards. Maddie is, by far, our leading rebounder over the past four or five games, two of which she essentially missed (K State and WV). I think Gabbi hit four threes against Baylor.

I think Baylor sweeps Texas. The only chance anyone has of beating Baylor is Monday. They really aren't struggling this year. Point leadership.

We had a lot of players that played poorly last time- though- they will be a tougher matchup since they are all healthy and the rotations and roles will be settled. We also won't be catching them sleeping after last year. If we beat them this time around we have clearly been playing under our potential- and that would be undisputable. I think its a close game- The only way it won't be is a horrendous amount of turnovers, or shooting 30% from the field. We can play w/ these guys. Baylor is certainly the favorite- but we can win. No doubt in my mind.

Two Key matchups- Maddie v. Nina. Gioya v. Jones. We just need to hold them to their averages, aslong as no one goes crazy it'll be a game.

Hopefully TT plays- she did well on Niya Johnson, who was probably still a little hampered.

I would give Tx an equal chance. Atkins is healthier than in their prior game and who knows which Imani Boyette will show up. I kind of think the tough one will. I also don't think Alexis Jones goes off for 29 points again. She's averaging close to 15 a game. Texas just needs someone to score besides Boyette and McCarty and believe Atkins will be that person. But right now, I am anxious....like excited to see and anxious like afraid...about tomorrow night's game. It really is difficult to predict OU wbb this year. Well, for me anyway.

ViVi is our most consistent player right now. Our outside shooting has been dismal. In order to play to our strength, I expect our first, second, and third option will be to go inside time after time. If Baylor starts ignoring the outside shooting (which is what I would do, in fact, I would back up and say shoot, shoot every time Peyton or Maddie touches the ball) and sags inside, we will be in trouble. I doubt we can make enough outside shots to pull the defense out. Sherri only has one option if Baylor says inside and that's to bring in Derica. She has also been inconsistent but she can knock down 3 or 4 threes if she gets hot.

We have to slow down Jones and Davis. I expect Maddie to defend Davis and Carter will take on Jones. Fouls will be a major concern. If our bigs get in foul trouble, we're toast. If their bigs get in foul trouble we have a chance.

UT is, in my opinion, a pretender because the Horns, though talented, are not tough enough mentally to hang with Baylor.

As for our game tonight, I believe we have a chance to upset the Bears, but we'll have to have great play (on both ends) from both of our posts and our guards/wings will have to hit a good number of threes and force some turnovers.

On the other hand, guess you could say the same for almost every game we play. :)

That aint really the Baylor I know. They'll be in our shorts looking for turnovers and trying to speed us up- causing missed shots that way i would think. We need to protect the ball, and knock down shots. Enless TT is in, we have 4 players at all times that can knock it down. Be a good night to pop the lid off.

Do you expect T'ona to play a lot tonight to try and slow down Johnson?

I sure hope so. Gabbi has been pathetic this year.

Dang, Ollie, you're certainly hard on Gabbi. She's played poorly at times, but she's actually played pretty well at other times.

T'ona is a whirling dirvish on defense and is certainly valuable on that end of the court. But the kid's a liability on the offensive end (poor shooting and turnovers).

That's about the extent of my criticism, however (see, Norm, I can criticize OU players). It is my hope that TT will improve on offense; she's shown some signs in recent games.

In our first game with Baylor T'ona scored 11 points. If she can come close to that it will help tremendously.

Has Baylor been wearing those polkadot warmups all year? I kinda like them.

You know the best thing about this game so far?

It's that dress Sherri is wearing. Wow.

Yes maybe SC can trade her fashion knowledge for recruiting tips from Kim Mulkey

Why do I feel like it's a victory that we scored 8 points in a quarter. The girls are fighting.
