I know Im one of the few (maybe the only one) that thought we could play with Baylor. We FINALLY hit some boards last game- we won't out rebound them, but we need to make it close. KK I think has the matchup, they didn't collapse on her all game last time- she needs to be a force. I think she can score 15-18 on the girl guarding her. The Peyton threat will space the floor a little more than last time so everyone will get better looks. I don't see us going 2-20 again, and I don't see them shooting as well as they did last time. The last thing, is Gabbi needs to at least kind of stay w/ Niya- She destroyed us last game. But I believe we can beat them in Norman- Us by 5.

They might have trouble getting to Norman. Got some icy weather here in the DFW area. Schools closed today and tomorrow.

We did better on the boards but KSU is no Baylor. Everyone for us has to show up and we can't be getting five points from our stars. Baylor has the sort of athletes that always give us trouble. If we win, IMO, it be be on defense, the boards, and taking care of the ball.

I'd like to watch it, but my cable company doesn't carry FSOK. Will it be streamed by anyone else, anyone know?

The biggest reasons we lost at Baylor were:

1. Rebounding. They outrebounded us by 9.
2. Free Throws. they shot 10 more than we did.

There was more to it than just those 2 things, but those are the most obvious places we need to improve.

I am not even sure I can watch us play Baylor. I can't stand to watch Kim Mulkey act like an absolute fool over on the sidelines for 40 minutes and get rewarded for it.

Carter has to regain the fire she showed early in the conference season for us to be in the Baylor game. Also Maddie has to play and contribute. KayKay cannot disappear.

Little and Ortiz will take care of themselves.

I agree they have to rebound better.

Mulkey is very good at getting easy open shots. We have to shut that down somehow.

I think we will be much better than at Waco but it is going to be an uphill struggle.

I don't believe Baylor can beat us from the outside but they can darn sure beat us easily if we allow them to score in the paint at will. Sag inside and stop the easy baskets is the only chance we have to beat the Bears.

On offense, I hope we pound the ball inside. When we go inside/out, we are normally very effective.

Will be a battle- Like Norm said, have to protect the middle. Help D- close out hard. Game will be decided on the defensive side. Of course- I say that expecting we shoot above 10% in the first 10 mins........

All I want is One Shining Moment for OU - everyone bring their A game. Baylor can be beat.

Mulkey is no fool. She is a complete jerk (I know. As all the women I know refer to me as a man with massive jerk tendencies). Some might even say she's a horse's ***, but that woman is no fool.

The reason we lost last time? It's because they are better than us at everything.

Does that mean they are 25 points better than us? No. Does that mean we cannot beat them? No.

We can beat them

Everyone has to be on: Scoring, 3pt baskets, mid-range and bunnies. Defense has to be has tight as a tick and as mean as Mike Tyson on fight night. Rebounding the snot out of the ball with a vengeance will be a must. Fight underneath and let them know we are there and it's going to be a war.

I think Sherri is going to have to put someone on she-who's-name-will-not-be mentioned, because Gabbi cannot do it. Perhaps Carter, LaNeshia, Peyton or even Edwards just to slow her down. If that doesn't happen, our chances of winning just got reduced by 25 percent.

Over 10 turnovers and our chances to win get decreased by another 25 percent. The first stupid pass, you get a pass. The second and you get yelled at in public and sit on the bench for as long as possible.

Sherri has to continue her stellar substitution coaching this year.

Finally, Sherri has to show some real fire herself. She has to get after her players, but even more important she has to get in the ref's faces. She cannot let Mulkey run roughshod over them and scare them into calling 5 fouls on us for every one against them.

We can win this. A win here could be the defining moment of this season.

LET'S GO SOONERS! Take it to them ladies.

Nice post Oli.

But you were far too kind to Miss Mulkey. :D

One thing we know, Kim will have them ready to play. We have to have a quick start and we cannot allow Baylor to jump out to a 15 point lead in the first few minutes of the game.

If that happens you may see them having to carry me out on a stretcher. :dance005:

I hope the players are not shell shocked from last time. They tend to be fighters so I expect a strong effort.

Agree. That first tilt in Waco … we seemed to not have much confidence and the game spun the wrong way quickly. Johnson and Davis are issues, but when they get distance shooting from Alexis Prince, the task becomes that much taller.

Gotta manage their stars and not make a star out of someone else.

More than anything, I want our young and growing team to play smart and fearless. Learn something from the first game.

OU was down 22 at halftime, and just 23 at the end of the game. Baylor shot a ridiculous 57% for the game compared to OU's low 30s.

Of course we can win this game. We just need to want to win enough, and we will.

If yall can pound the ball down low to Williams and then Peyton and Gabbi can hit shots from outer space then we stand no chance. IMO, Williams is better post than anyone we have (Higgins, Sune, or Cave). In Waco, when she was called for the elbow move down low she became timid and kinda checked out instead of remaining aggressive and going up strong. Our posts are a major weakness and tend to foul everytime they get beat, which is quite often.

It all starts with post play. If Williams is scoring at will then she will draw a double team leaving the outside shot wide open for your great three point threats.

Prince is the X factor for us. She is gaining confidence every game and is consistently hitting the outside shots off of screens. Plus her defense is improving with her length in guarding the arc. Sherri will have a gameplan for Nina and Niya but I expect Alexis to have a big game!
