He has really played pretty well the last two or three weeks, but I found it curious he finished out the game while Spangler was on the bench. We are markedly less effective defensive rebounding when Spangler sits. With Neal in the game it is even more exaggerated. Notice Clark grabbed 10 boards last night - which is about as many as I remember him having all year.

I love Bennett's defensive presence - i.e. shot blocking - but it seems we suffer on the boards when he is in the game.

Something I hope he can improve moving forward. Especially since Bennett and Spangler are rarely, if ever, in the game together.

Bennett has to stop trying to go for a block on every shot. It kills us on the defensive rebounds when he doesn't get the block. Not saying he should never do it. But he needs to stop doing every single time someone drives to the rim.

I'm guessing Kruger traded rim protection for rebounds last night. WVU was driving too easily to the basket. Bennett changed that.

I'll take the Bennett we have seen in the last 2 weeks over where he was in January.
