He might not ever leave the starting lineup the rest of his time in Norman. Love the kid. Poised as could be and plays like a veteran. And just scratching the surface of what he will be.

Great future. If he’s gonna play 36 minutes, probably needs to score his first bucket before 3/4s of the game is over though.

Hopefully Kruger can still use Calixte and Reynolds for some offense. I’m not a fan of Odomes starting.

JB played very well...but also made a huge mistake at the end. Course kruger should have called TO.

As far as odomes...TONIGHT the dude kept us close the first half...love his energy..wish he'd up his FT %...lol.

I love Bienemy, he's growing up before our eyes.

McNease was better tonight, he needs to get back to before his injury.

Next game at OSU is HUGE for this team.

Not sure I agree that was a mistake. The shot was from right in front of our bench and Lon said after the game he thought it was a great look. But even if it was a bad decision, I can live with a guy who in almost 40 minutes made one questionable choice, hit four huge shots down the stretch, and didn't turn it over. Feels like he has played a lot more than 18 career games. The killer play (and I know this is captain obvious) was James being lackadaisical and costing us a possession in a one-point game.

Nothing wrong with JB's shot at the end. He had been shooting it well. I have a bigger issue with CJ's bonehead turnover in the last minute. That's the kind of crap that costs you games.

Looked like a prayer

Lon will never throw a kid under the bus

YES! exactly!!

Bieniemy missed the cutter under the basket - probably because he had his head down and couldnt see him. But he was under stress from the whorns' pressure on the ball and he's not well experienced in those situations just yet. So throwing him under the bus for it would be silly and likely counterproductive. Instead you take it as a learning experience and address it when going over the film. He should have known at halfcourt that a deuce was all that was needed and getting an easy bucket from a cutter to the hole was the obvious plan. You spread it out and someone makes a move. Guys on the baseline make a backcut. Guys on the elbow replace at the wing or on top they downcut to the basket. It's just a matter of experience and JB didnt have that.

Didn't think I could love the kid more than I did two hours ago, but he made it happen lol. I swear he is a 25-year-old veteran and not a college freshman. I'll probably jinx him into a bad game by saying this, but he just never seems to make the wrong choice. Definitely no coincidence that our turnovers are way down with him starting and playing nearly the entire game. He hasn't turned it over in the last three games! And his offense has been a very necessary bonus the past couple games. He even comes across as a veteran in his interviews.

yeah. JB and that shocker kid are gonna make a nice pair next season. makes me wonder again what that starting group will be.

Kid is unbelievably secure with the ball

Needs to be taking some of Manek’s shots

Jamal Bieniemy has now played 85 consecutive minutes of basketball without a turnover!

Correction: it’s 95-consecutive minutes! That’s a turnover on me. @OU_MBBall

I thought the play of the game is when Odomes fought for a rebound late and took it away from two osu players and then while falling down.....passed it to Bienemy, who then drained a 3. That's the type of effort we want to see for 40 minutes from everyone out there.

bienemy is so so steady as a true freshman and he is the best defender on the team really happy to watch him the next 3.5 years

it's those long arms! he's got these quick hands and those looong arms. I love watching him cover guys their first few times at the top of the key. It's hard to gauge a safe distance from his hands and he surprises you. Reyrey does the same with handspeed and effort. JB's is that plus that reach. I wonder what AI or Hardaway could do with his ballhandling ...

Definitely a highlight play of our comeback win. Odomes and Bieniemy came up big in last night’s game. That’s the kind of stuff that can be the difference in a win or a loss.

For sure. It was funny -- Odomes, from the ground, was able to scoop it to James. CJ passed to Bieniemy and pointed for Bieniemy to pass to Brady on the wing for the shot. Jamal, cool as a cucumber, ignored that advice and sank the huge shot.

Massive props to RO for fighting 3 Pokes for that rebound, too.

Also, kudos to CJ, a Senior, for passing to Bienemy, a Freshman, instead of forcing a shot up himself.
