Can anyone think of when the last time a Big 10 Team came to the LNC? I'm also a Hawkeye fan and my father and I are excited about the Wisconsin game. We were trying to think of when a big 10 team last came to town...

That's a great question. Purdue back in the Sampson era when they had Brian Cardinal?

we lost to Purdue and Cardinal in the NCAA second round. that game wasn't in Norman....and especially disappointing because we had been playing well and the whole side of our bracket had upsets. a young Hollis and Eddie.

the sneaky answer is Nebraska in 2011. hahaha.

my guess was going to be the Mich State series we had with Kelvin but, amazingly, we have played MSU 6 times since 1993....all at neutral sites. the regular season games with MSU were in OKC and Auburn Hills/Detroit....which i did not remember. we beat Izzo in OKC and up there in OT, that was a helluva game.

thanks to Soonerstats which is awesome....

leader in the clubhouse IS Purdue but on December 11, 2003...but not Brian Cardinal....a track meet Sooner win, 47-45. Sooners led by Drew Lavender's 14 and Kevin Bookout's 12.

i remember the OU-Iowa game in the NCAA.....i was a little surprised to see OU was unranked for that one. Sweet 16 game i remember. tied for second in the Big 8, lose to #6 Iowa in the Sweet 16 by exactly one basket...win 24 games......unranked. no wonder Billy was pissed most of the time.

Yeah that's the one I was thinking of. I remember it being an 11 AM tipoff too. Hard to believe some Bookout references are now from 12 years ago.

Per SoonerStats, the last home-and-home OU had with Wisconsin was 1954 at Wisconsin, and 1955 at OU.

Wisconsin leads the all-time series 4-3.

One of the worst games I've ever sat through. Lavender hit a little banker off the glass with just a couple seconds to go to win it. Awful, AWFUL, basketball game.

I was at that Purdue game....a first one 50 winner would have taken two days.

Boy, it was bad offensive basketball.
