Big 12 Preseason Poll

I could see us sliding up a spot, maybe two. Be tough to crack the top 3 unless some COVID stuff happens. I'm not sure about any opt-outs for other teams, or roster turnover, but with OU adding so few new faces expected to contribute significantly (really just Gibson), that should be an advantage from a chemistry perspective given the short OOC schedule.

I would swap OSU and UT. I'm honestly not that familiar with UT's roster for next year, but while I'm sure they'll be talented enough for top 4, I don't have enough faith in Shaka.

I feel that most people had OSU competing for the B12 Title with Cunningham before they got banned from the NCAA tourney. I'm sure that no NCAA tournament could limit motivation, but at the same time, B12 play is their NCAA tournament, so it could have the opposite effect. As long as Cunningham actually plays all year, I can't see them in the bottom half. He's the real MFing deal.

I don’t think anyone had them competing for the Big 12 title. I’m not intending that to come across as a shot at you, I just honestly don’t think I saw anyone on or off this board even hinting they’d be at that level. Baylor will start the season in the top 2 or 3 nationally, and Kansas is Kansas. Cunningham may be great, but he won’t be better than KD, Beasley, Blake, or senior year Buddy. None of those guys won the conference, and the roster around Cunningham isn’t stocked with NBA talent. I think fifth would be their ceiling even had the tournament ban not happened.
