Big 12 schedule

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been eager for the conference schedule to be released. For those who haven't heard, it will be announced today at 2:00. It's always fun to see how it sets up -- and it makes the season feel just a little closer when you have specific dates to look forward to. Also a nice reminder on the team's twitter account that OU leads the all-time series against all but one Big 12 school. (I wonder who that one could be . . .)

As the biggest KU hater on the planet, I unfortunately think it is safe to say that they will win the conference again, most likely by a wide margin. My other prediction regarding KU is that if/when they lose a game or two early in the season and another team gets off to a fast start, some people will make the annual mistake of anointing someone else as the best team in the conference. I consider West Virginia to be the frontrunner to finish in second place.

As for OU, if they can get off to a good start and win a reasonable percentage of their close games, I think they can win 10+ conference games. Having said that, winning on the road is always incredibly difficult, so getting to 10 won't be easy. A lot will depend on how Doolittle plays, and how the team adjusts, if/when he comes back.

Well then, I predict the Sooners will go undefeated in conference play and win the Big 12 title by two full games. KU will lose just two games, and both will be to OU – by 20 points at Lawrence and by 36 at Norman.

How's that for a bold prediction? :ez-laugh:

Agreed @tcu, @wvu, & @kstate will all be games that will be very tough to come away with a win.

5-2 or 4-3 depending on how @KSU goes. We should be better than them but road games in the big 12 are rarely easy

We never win at KState. Regardless how bad they are or how good we are. Last time was with Blake I think. OU just doesn't play well in Manhattan..

Edit: We also won one time when Steveo Pledgero went off. HAHA fluke. But still, one the toughest placest for OU to play.

Exactly.....we might need to tap the brake a bit. Nothing wrong with being excited in anticipation of the season, but I want to see how this team handles the tough non-conference portion of the schedule first. After the proverbial "kick in the nuts" season last year, put me down in the category of "cautiously optimistic".
