Our top 6 teams are 22-0 with wins over:

Duke
Michigan
Memphis
Alabama
BYU
Colorado

As well as a few decent middle-tier teams. Too early to tell, but so far a good showing for the Big 12.

I know it's early but it's far from a 2 bid conference someone on here was projecting a couple of weeks ago.

Good for ISU. I watched a few minutes of their game with BYU and they were down early at BYU.

Big 12 looking strong this year.

There are several more good potential non-conference scalps on the table as well:

OSU: Purdue, Colorado, Butler* or Memphis* (again)
OU: Seton Hall, Texas A&M
KU: Colorado, Florida, New Mexico, Georgetown
ISU: Iowa
Baylor: Kentucky
K-State: Gonzaga

*Depending on who wins in the Old Spice Classic

I was... ;)

Just think if we had Louisville instead of West Virginia. That's going to go down as the dumbass decision of the decade.

We could easily have both. West Virginia when added was a pretty decent addition on paper. 3 BCS wins in the last 8 years. I don't think any Big 12 team has that. Multiple deep NCAA Tourney runs and the Big East was a great basketball conference during that time. You could argue the football program was just winning an easy conference and then got into some lame BCS games. But they did beat OU and Georgia during that time. WVU was pretty darn good in both sports. Adding them wasn't a bad idea. It was staying at 10 that was the bad idea for the Big 12. They had chances to get Louisville and others but decided not to. And it'll probably mean the eventual collapse of the conference.

But back on topic...This year looks like a very strong top 5 teams with OSU, KU, OU, Baylor, and ISU. Not sure if the rest of the conference is any good at all. KSU has talent but lacks coaching. Texas just hasn't done much of anything the last few years. Tech, WVU, and TCU are just bad teams right now.

But you listed OU in your original post. Hmmmm.

Sorry... I didn't realize you guys played Michigan State or I would have included them.

I was just looking at the schedule at KenPom... so they aren't listed on the schedule since you don't play them "for sure."

Definitely two more possibilities for good non-conf. wins for the league, whether you get them or Virginia Tech in Brooklyn.

(My comment about "only counting top teams" was aimed at Texas, which plays the Spartans.)

Just odd that you point out OSU could play Butler or Memphis, but leave off the idea of OU playing the current No. 1 or Virginia Tech in their next game.

But its already been said
