KU or OSU vs UK would have been fun.

Yeah -- I'm not super-impressed with the lineup... mostly because of outside of Kentucky and Florida, the SEC is garbage.

I wonder if the Baylor v. Kentucky game in Arlington is the "return" game for the Baylor/Kentucky game at Rupp this year?

I wish OSU could have gotten Mizzou instead of South Carolina. That would have been fun.

Who's the genius who paired Mizzou with West Virginia?

Of all the potential stories about rivalries renewed, they went with that? Any original Big 8 team would've been far more interesting.

I agree with all the comments. Zzzzzzz. Zzzz on the series and an even bigger ZZZZZZZZ on this year's matchups

Alabama has a pretty solid basketball program. In moderns times they have been to more NCAA Tournaments than OSU. OSU has had more success in the Tournament in modern times but I don't think you can simply dismiss Alabama as a basketball program.

Since 1980:
Alabama 17 appearances, 1 elite eight, 0 final four
OSU 17 appearances, 3 elite eights, 1 final four
Before 1980:
Alabama 1 appearance lost in first round
OSU 8 appearances, 2 National Championships, 3 National Championship appearances.

So yeah, if you take out some of OSU’s best years and accomplishments then they are almost the same.
But I’m sorry to break it to you…those games prior to 1980 were played and there are many members from those teams who are still living. I’d like for you to go up to those guys and tell them the games they played in when they were in college don’t count.

I think I was pretty clear in noting I was only discussing the modern era. The difference is that during Iba's tenuare their wasn't a huge Tournament to determine the Champion. That doesn't mean that Henry Iba wasn't a great coach, it simly reflects the fact that times were different. Nobody from Oklahoma should discount the accomplishments of Henry Iba or Drake. However, everyone should realize they competed in a different era.

With respect to success, I specifically said OSU has had more success in the tournament. I knew that OSU went to two final fours and that Sutton was pretty successful in the NCAA Tournament. That is why I said OSU had more success in the Tournament.

I counted 20 NCAA appearances for Alabama since the 75 and 18 since 82. I did not say Alabama was a better program than OSU.

I don't get your point. I am simply pointing out that Alabama has a better basketball program than most people realize. Much like OU, the Alabama basketball program is a bit in the background becasue the football program is so strong.

Alabama's and OSU's history aside, the point is that right now, the SEC is pretty crappy outside of Florida and Kentucky.

Of course, the Big 12 probably won't be much better next year, as we won't have much outside of KU, OSU and Baylor. Hopefully WVU will be a lot better next year. That would help.
