They played tough defense. They are tough mentally. Let's say that Villanova improved defensively and offensively throughout the year. I expect Monday night game will be close and tough physically.

Nova lost 5 games all year.

They were good from November to April. Period.

The question might be should be get some home and home with these conferences. Yes know we got Nova early but do we need to harden the schedule a little more..

Rematches rarely are a good thing for the team that won the first one, and especially if it was a blowout. Nova got their revenge tonight.

Did you see Jay Wright press conference on ESPN??? He said when they played OU in December, a few of their players were new starters. They were schooled by OU seniors. But they learned a lot of that game and started to play more discipline. The only team that played discipline is Kansas in the big 12. That's why they are the conference champ almost every year. I expect Jame Dixon will get TCU to that level. Soon you will see Kansas, West Virginia, and TCU at the top of the conference.

:facepalm

OU made it to the final 4 this season (and, btw, Jamie Dixon has never led a team to one). Do you think there was no discipline involved?

How many games OU got a big lead and blew them away? If you are fundamentally sound and discipline defensively, that would rarely happen.

OU made to the final four through hard work offensively, but defensively they are not very disciplined. You know they never play 40 minutes of discipline defense for most of the games.

They didn't have any problem kicking ass against Stanford, Ga Tech and St Joe's, the 3 games leading into the OU game.

They were preaseason Top 10 and started the year 17-2. Only losses to OU and at Virginia.

They were damn good when they played OU the first time, too.

Villanova played an almost perfect game Saturday. Maybe it was perfect.

When they won it in 1985, with Rollie Mossimino as coach, they did play a perfect game against Georgetown, shooting 80% from the field.

In 1988, Tubbs' super team outscored Villanova in the NCAA tournament by 26 points in the second half to win handily. Tubbs was asked if he'd give any advice to Rollie and he replied "Rollie can use a comb."
