Blair Transferring?

Grooms had the tendency to be a defensive liability at times. Calvin was pretty solid but since he only played less than five games I don't really consider him in this discussion. I'm not here to say Blair was a lockdown defender or anything. His lack of size alone negates that. But he was far, FAR from terrible in that regard.

If Carl made better decisions on the offensive end, he would have gotten signifcantly more playing time. He really worked hard on D.

Other players on the team were everyday worse in every way defenders that Carl. It was his persistant unforced turnover problem that made him unplayable

Gary you are absolutely correct. He would occasionally just go hand the ball to the defense.
The coaches are pleased with Carl and hope he successful next year.

That is right. The only time Grooms was a defensive liability was when he was assigned to guard someone that was just better than him. There wasn't many that were. The point guard from Baylor and and mayby 3 others all season long could get him. And that group could get by about anyone.

Blair would be an absolute star at an NAIA school. He will be a good point guard at a DII school. We should all wish him the best. No coach has ever had anything bad to say about his attitude or work ethic. He just didn't have the talent to be a significant contributor at a major DI institution. He deserves a chance to have some major success. I hope he finds what he is looking for.
