Blair Transferring?

You guys get too emotional over talking about a particular player. I told you guys when I first saw him play that he wasn't D-1 material. He got abused by the white PG from Northern State or East Popcorn State last year. It seems like Carl is a good kid and I do wish him luck wherever he goes. But I'm not here to not hurt his feelings. I want a winning basketball team again. Fact is, a PG that can't guard, can't shoot, and turns the ball over doesn't need to be on the floor. That is coming from a former PG.

Why does the color of the other pg's skin matter?

Carl Blair is clearly a D-1 player as proven by the fact that he started for two seasons at two different D-1 programs and made a significant contribution last year. He is also a good team player as proven by the fact that he did not quit on his teammates when it was clear Grooms would be the starter. I wish him well and hope he gets a chance to start his senior year.

I agree. I've never understood the "not a D1 player" stuff. The kid struggled, especially this year. But he also got his minutes cut in half, and had some pretty average talent around him on the court at times. Our second team wasn't exactly uber-talented. That said, I don't think this past year is indicative of Blair as a basketball player. Just like I hope it isn't indicative of Cam as a basketball player. Hope Blair lands somewhere where we can get some run, and enjoy his senior year.

I have always been a Blair supporter. I hope he gets to start somewhere again and is successful.

Seems to me there are several "not Div. 1 level" posters on this board. But they're all nice guys, I'm sure, and I wish them well in whatever they decide to pursue when their scholarships to ouhoops are not renewed. ;)

Quite good news for OU.

Hope it works out for Blair somewhere else.

Good luck to you Carl, and i hope your next stop works out well for you....

White, Black, Brown, Green...he couldn't stay in front of any color. Like I said, emotional. You can believe that he is a D1 player but there is a reason that he was at NO. We do have D1 talent everywhere else except a legit big man. We are not that far off. Getting rid of some dead weight and adding some good scorers will drastically help us.

Wish him well. He played hard and represented the team and university with class.

since we are talking about skin color Carls BEST games where when he was guarding slow white pgs(osu)
He was the worst defender I have ever seen, made heskett look like a shut down defender.
Hope it works out for him but what capel saw in him Ill never know.

If anybody was curious, Blair is headed to Prairie view A&M

If Carl Blair was the worst defender you have ever seen, you haven't watched very much basketball. In fact, Carl was arguably the best on-ball defender we had last year.

That is not to far from wrong. He,Grooms and Calvin were in a group that was the best. When he was a couple of steps back from the ball was when he became abit of a liability.

Other players on the team were everyday worse in every way defenders that Carl. It was his persistant unforced turnover problem that made him unplayable.
