Blake tours Duke facilities, talks up Capel

Campbest has succeeded in pissing off the old people on the board. :ez-roll:

I hesitate to speak for campbest but I think he's just saying there is a generational gap with this sort of thing. That is how I see it anyway.

Thank you, this is how it was intended. There is a huge generational gap when it comes to opinions on AAU, summer circuits, shoe sponsored teams, etc. As Tony said, there are things about the process I don't like...but for every story of a kid getting improper benefits, there are a hundred stories of kids getting a chance to showcase their skills for a multitude of coaches from across the country. AAU opens more doors than it closes, I (as others on this board) know from experience going through the system.

As for the generational characteristics debate, save it. No one wants to hear the "it was better back when" story.

Your day will come. It comes to everyone.

I actually don't believe it was better back when, and I'm someone who grew up in the 1960s and '70s and is fascinated by the 1920s, '30s, and '40s. Some things get better, and others get worse. They tend to even out, I think.

But to ascribe specific opinions about any development in society to a particular age group is painting with too broad a brush.

He just sounds like a major dumba$$ to me.

I hear literally hundreds of young dumba$$es daily so it doesn't make me mad.

Just makes me SMH.

Wow, where do you buy your hearing aids?

I hear them at the courthouse. Their bulldog mouths tend to overload their hummingbird asses and they require assistance staying out of jail.

Is that all ya got? Hearing humor? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Let me guess you were born post 1985 and already know everything there is to know. Especially more than those that have more knowledge than you are yet to be exposed to.

He doesn't know everything there is to know, campbest thinks he knows everything there is to know.

That, and a multitude of other reasons, is why he's considered to be the clown poster of OUHoops. A true board jester.

Sort of like the AAU brush, right? It's no secret that AAU basketball is a polarizing topic, especially amongst older generations who were accustomed to the high school-only system. Was just proving that basketball point with the question. Some of you are really looking too far into this, it was purely basketball related.

It is a secret to me. I don't care if the kids form themselves into teams and play summer ball. What I said was that I have a problem with kids coming out of the AAU program with a sense of entitlement. It doesn't infect them all. And I do believe that AAU ball is a more fertile breeding ground for that than a High School coach would permit. It is up to the college coach to be able to handle that type or not bring them in. Kids haven't changed. But, the tolerence for bad behavior sure has.
