horrid

wish I was pumped about the college games on tap. but college ball just seems boring right now.

That's why I belong in a fantasy NBA $ league!!! Every night is interesting trying to win that $1,000!

The more I watch the NBA the more boring college basketball gets.

true.

Plus, I don't think college ball is as exciting as it usetabe.

Despite the bad schedule I have been enjoying watching Cleveland a bit though. Charlotte too. I just wanted to see more of Rubio & Love as well as Wall & Nene. :(

Hard to get into college hoops when OU has no chance of making a run. Hopefully in a couple of years it will be worth watching the top teams to scout out what a potential tournament matchup would look like. Until then, I'll stick to the NBA, and watch the handful of decent non-conference games OU plays.

OU doesn't hafta be an NC contender for me to be interested. I just want them to have D1 talent and the potential to be much better at the end of the season than they were at the beginning if they're not.

I'm to the point now where if it isn't OSU playing, I can hardly watch a college ball game. Where I can find myself enjoying even the most tepid NBA contest. Even like, Bucks v. Wizards or whatever. Every team has at least a couple of stars that have unique styles/games that can keep my interest.

And, even the rest of the players, pretty much all of them do at least one thing at a very high caliber, so something ALWAYS has your attention outside of just the usual watching the ball pass to pass. When the Thunder played the Bulls the other night, I found myself constantly watching Rip Hamilton weave around the court trying to get his man off of him.

In college, if it is a team (so all of them but OSU, pretty much) I am watching for the first time, outside of the possible one or two stars, I'm watching 8 or 9 nondescript players run around out there whose intricacies I'm not interested enough in to watch a half dozen games to find out.

Fantasy leagues definitely make things more fun.

The college game has dropped off outside of the blue bloods. Even then the players are gone after one or two years.

You truly get your money out of NBA LP. As was already mentioned you can always get something out of any NBA game.

People that don't pay attention to it enough say the pros do not play defense. That couldn't be further from the truth. The majority of NBA players are just that good at putting the ball into the basket. Guys will just rise up and swish a 25 footer like its nothing. Try putting a full court press on the guards in the NBA and see what happens.

It's not common to go four or five minutes without a basket in the college game now. Most teams will just pass the ball around the three point line until the shot clock winds down then jack up a fadeaway with no chance of going in. I was a fan of Sampson's teams but the college game was better even then compared to now.

Agreed. It's funny, I used to be all about college basketball. I could watch whoever play against anybody and I was entertained. Now, college basketball seems to be getting painful to watch.

my feelings exactly.

it wasn't long ago that I could watch ANY college basketball game and enjoy it.

now I can hardly watch any of them ... but I do enjoy nearly every NBA game.

College basketball is practically unwatchable these days. One example. Do college players not know how to run a 3 on 1 fast break anymore? Most of the time these days the dribbler just takes the ball barreling into the defender hoping to draw a foul. What happened to drawing the defender and hitting a teammate for an easy layup? It's inexplicable.

The charge and shot clock are killing college basketball too. After you watch a bunch of NBA, watching these college guys take 40 shots off the clock is like watching paint dry. Also, EVERYTHING is a charge. You see like 1 charge a game in the NBA, and pretty much anyone looks at the rim in college basketball its a charge.

I was watching some game the other day and there were like 4 charges called just in the little window I was watching. It's like that pretty much every game. You can't get anything going toward the rim in college hoops.

I will always watch OU's games. I've seen 75% of the games over the past 3 miserable seasons. I'm just saying, the incentive to watch non-conference teams is not really there, when we know OU will never face any of these teams. It's like with football, I'm busy watching all the big non-conference matchups because they are potential bowl opponents for OU.

Yeah, this.

There is your problem.

Biggest problem with CBB is not the schedule, it's the location of the games. College atmospheres, home court advantages, intimate environments...those are what make the scene great for viewing. Problem now is that all the coaches don't want to play true road games anymore because a neutral floor doesn't look as detrimental to the selection committee and is a safer method for seeding.

Perfect example was UK and Indiana last year....awesome game to watch at Assembly Hall.

I'm going to sound 52 years old and say kids don't learn the game correctly growing up. We used to go to summer camps and things like dribble stops, step to catch step to pass, 3on2 continuity, learning to use both hands, etc., etc., etc. These days kids think everything you see on NBA 2013 and in 30 seconds on ESPN is all there is to being a ballplayer. College, as well as HS, is turning into trying to leap over someone and out SportsCenter the next guy. Watch some of these games and see how many guys go for a rebound by bodying up their man and blocking him out. JMO.

Sincerely
