Im going to miss Bob, he is all I know for Sooner radio. Sure he missed alot of calls and messed up some names, but it really didnt matter to me. There was a comfort knowing Bob would be calling the games, he was like your kindly grandfather. God Speed Bob, Ill miss you

Sat and chatted with him in the terminal through a 90-minute delay for my flight to KC for the 2008 Big 12 Tournament. I found him to be a very sweet, genuine man. He did not go out on top, and he stayed far too long, but I'd give just about anything to do for one day what he did for 50 years.

Great guy. Have heard him on radio since 1956 and the Norman High days. Always like how Bob would paint a picture for us on down distance and position on the field or court. Live long and prosper Bob.
