Boren talking tough again about the Big 12

Do you guys not like the potential of South Florida?

• 50,000 student enrollment
• Top 100 school
• Florida TV markets (Tampa and Orlando are 1 hour away from each other)
• NFL Stadium

Seems like they could be a nice fit, and wouldn't take much coaxing. They would suck for a few years, but in basketball you are only 2-3 players away from being good and in football they would have to do some rebuilding for a bit.

I do. I think if they scheduled easy (basically three wins) and then could beat ISU and KU, they are one win away from being bowl eligible. Make a couple of bowl, move up to 7-5, then 8-4, etc. Next thing you know, they might be able to be a serious contender in recruiting Florida. Once Florida kids start thinking about the Big XII, that should make it easier for OU to recruit Florida.

Beyond that, the TV markets are huge. I think Florida is the third or fourth largest State. If South Florida could become a top 25 team, that would get lots of people in Florida watching Big XII football.

Cincy is a no brainer.

After that I'd look at Memphis, UCF, or South Florida.

Heck, add all 4 and move WVU and Iowa State to the new "Eastern" divison.

Now is the time to do this because Texas is down and unable to push the rest of the Big 12 members around.
