I noticed we recently got a crystal ball from jerry Meyer for Thompson!

He's usually pretty accurate. That would be a great get!

He also flips his picks routinely. But it can't be a bad sign, Thompson has improved a ton since last year. Can score with ease.

Check updates on 2020 thread. but ill add comments here as well.

Boyton is a recruiting machine. Kansas can wait and see on him, they've offered but they can push hard.

Rod his dad is playing a big part, not controlling or telling him where to go. Self is his guy. Boyton is a machine at times, #1 priority, Kruger, How long will he coach, Rod loves Crutchfield and Kruger. They aren't pushy like most, they don't feel they have to be at every game, they know they have to get other players.

Boyton is at every game possible for BT.

Is Thompson good friends with the Boone twins or do they just know each other from the AAU circuit/living in Tulsa?

not gonna hold my breath on Bryce Thompson. He seems like a nice kid and he's certainly skilled - - but what happens when he's away from his father? Is what we see HIS zeal for the game or his father's drive to redo his own circuitous route to D1 success? Those situations always worry me.

Is Boyton a “recruiting machine,” or is that your way of saying he’s a persistent pest with time on his hands? ;)

I ask, because nothing I have seen in the classes he has signed so far, leads me to believe he’s a great recruiter. I see him as the opposite of Shaka Smart: Excellent coach, average recruiter

I can see your concern, but the kid can play and, in the games I have seen him play in person (probably 10 including AAU games), he looks to me like he loves the game. No way to know what's in a kid's heart, but he is a very skilled player with, I think, a great future at the college level.

I'd love for OU to get him. I think a backcourt of he and Harmon would be deadly in 2020 - Harmon a sophomore and Thompson a freshman. Has a good sound to it.

Dad is truly letting Bryce run this. just family ties matter.

AAU. There actually is a little division between Thompson and boone twins.

Little both. I think he sells things very well is what I was trying to say. 3-4 4 stars in 2019 class. Thats an above avg recruiter for his first class.

I just hope Harmon's still here in 2020-21.

And don't forget Reaves and JB -- it'll be tough for Thompson or any other freshman to beat those guys out of a starting backcourt spot in two years if they are both healthy!

I dont know if hes a one and done type... Obviously a great year, anything can happen.

I don't, either, but he's cited being one-and-done as a goal. I hope (for purely selfish reasons) he's a very good three-and-done (if not four).

LOL! I was trying to be nice. How about, “good” coach?

You’re a lot more in tune with recruiting than I’ll ever be, but this is what I used as a barometer to gauge Boykin’s ability to recruit. Orange Power’s web site shows the Poke’s with two four star signees, one barely in the top 100. What am I missing?
