****Buddy Hield NBA Draft Central Thread*****

Nice thread, OUHoops!

The video with Kenny Smith and Chris Dunn made me smile. Sure is great to see one of my favorite Sooners of all time having fun and enjoying the fruits of his hard work and dedication the past four years!

Why not make this a Cousins NBA Draft thread also since he could be a first round pick?

Even if he's not, he should be included. How long has it been since OU had two possible first round draft picks? Maybe one of the historians on the board could answer that question?

No Kings No Kings No Kings!!!

I've been reading a lot all week about the draft, checking out rumors, reading articles in various papers just for some reassurance that he won't be going to Sacramento. If Boston (or whoever they trade the pick to) picks a guard at 3 then Minnesota and New Orleans will probably also pick guards and Buddy ends up one of those 3 places. If he's still there when the Nuggets pick at 7, I've got no confidence that they'll keep him from the Kings. I know there's always the possibility that the Kings will do something stupid and take Poetl or something and Buddy can go to the Raptors at 9.

As you said....no Kings no Kings no Kings...

I'm guessing late 80s/early 90s.

Last time 2 OU players taken in a draft was Griffin Bros in 09.

Correction Tiny Gallon and Willie Warren in 2010.

I just caught the end of an interview with Buddy on ESPN. The interviewer asked him wht he was going to wear tomorrow night. He wouldn't say exactly, but said it was a little bit Bahamas, a little bit Oklahoma and a little bit Buddy Love.

I don't usually make it a point to watch the NBA draft, but i can't wait to watch this one.

I won't be home tomorrow night. I wish I could watch the draft live. I might record it to watch later, but it wouldn't be the same.

Espn did a Draft preview earlier tonight and they basically said that the 3 top guards -- Dunn, Murray, and Hield -- were likely to go 3, 5, and 6 in some order. This would mean 1 goes to the Celtics, one to the T-Wolves, & one to the Pelicans be all 3 need guards/shooters badly. If the Celtics end up trading the 3rd pick, things could change, obviously. But that seems to make a lot of sense that Buddy will likely end up in Boston, Minnesota, or New Orleans.

Boston or Minnesota would be fantastic and New Orleans would be fine, too. Hopefully this is the way it plays out.
