I assumed this but hearing james and odomes say they were told its the "buddy hield academy" for their first year.

Glad those guys know that and respect that.

This was the best lesson all of these kids could possibly have. Buddy worked his ass off to go from a second rounder to a top 10 pick. That's the kind of message and tangible success that will resonate with younger players.

I could be wrong, and usually am, but I would not be surprised if Odomes breaks out in a big way next year and out-averages James scoring-wise.

In his limited minutes, he's shown flashed unreal athletic ability and can flat out get into the lane and get shots off the dribble. If he can keep improving his shot, watch out.

Anyone who has seen practices agree or disagree?

I sat by James' family at a game this year and they said that James loved staying late to work with Hield and Cousins. They also said he loves the team and OU.

I don't see it. James has the inside track at a starting spot, while Odomes would have to beat out a kid who is already playing in front of him in Buford.

Inside track sure but wood only guaranteed starter.

Odomes and Buford aren't the same. Buford replaces Spangler and at times Lattin if we go small. He rarely replaces Isaiah buddy or wood.

I think he has more potential.. James has really started to play better and better and I think he is the 2 next year for sure. I hope Odomes is the starting 3 because he gives us size and can hopefully help Buford rebound.
