For those of you who still dont think Cade is any good. Here are all the players that have averaged more than 16.7 ppg (Cade's current avg) in the last 10 years at OU. (2001-2011)

Blake Griffin 22.7 (2009)
Hollis Price 18.0 (2003)

The only others with 17+ ppg scoring seasons (Post-Tubbs era) are Ryan Minor, Eduardo Najera, Corey Brewer, and Nate Erdman.

Here is what you still (somehow) dont get... The argument has been that Cade cant be that type of a guy on a good team. If Cade averages good ppg, your team is going to suck.

Hollis and Blake played on 30 win teams. Cade averages 16 for a team that might win 8 or 9 games and finish last in the Big 12.

Cade took 17 shots against Chaminade, team lost to a DII school.
Cade took twice as many shots as anyone else vs UVA, team got blown out.
Cade took 20 shots against UK, team lost and never took a lead.

He cant be the leading scorer on a decent team.

I think I understand both sides on the Cade issue. However, the game of basketball always has been, is now and always will be a game that must be played inside out offensively to be consistently good. We are strictly an outside team. So when you show Cade's number of shots and the fact that we lost, this would generally be true for any player, and not just cade, on any team that doesn't have an inside presense.

We simply don't have any height or athletic semi-bigs. Our 6'7 or 6'8 kids are jumpers and are strictly below the rim players. This just won't work very well against most D-1 teams. We are just going to have to scramble and scratch to win some games.

Any team that just runs around outside the arc and shoots jump shots is going to be inconsistent offensively. Any team that doesn't have an inside presence defensively is going to be an average team defensively. We are what we are this year.

Bottom line, someone has to shoot the ball and Cade is as good an option as any other on this team most nights. Against kentucky, he was the only player on our team that looked like he belonged on the same court. He is a good D-1 player. If you don't agree, I disagree with you. If someone wants to say he is a great player, then I disagree with you. He is a good D-1 player that plays winning basketball, on a very poor team, that is not capable of carrying a team most nights. At least this is my opinion of him.

I like having Cade, I just wish we had a true point and a couple of legit bigs, to play with him.

You are changing your story. Originally you said he was not qualified to be a starter in the Big XII. There is a big difference between not having starter ability and not being effective as a leading scorer.

No, its the same story. On a really good team he is a role player off the bench.

I wont go as far as ABD and say he wouldnt be a starter on a good Big XII team because i do believe he would be unless there was a player at his position that was capable of putting up big time numbers...

He has done a solid job this year picking up the slack where it has been needed...but i think that proves ABD's point, if he is the one that has to score we are in big trouble...

There has to be a leading scorer on every team in America, even the worst ones...I'm proud of Cade in the fact he has stepped up and is showing he is one of the best players on this team, but on the other hand it is pretty sad he is just that...

Cade would start on most D-1 teams right now as a senior due to his hustle, toughness, and hard work. He would not average 20+ points on said teams, but he would be a starter. You think osu doesnt wish they had his outside shooting right now. He might be taking more shots than anyone else, but he is shooting 41% from 3 and he shot 50% from the floor in maui.
