Can't ever remember that kind of improvement in one year from a Sooner player. Especially from Jr. to Sr. year when you feel like there isn't that much room left to grow.

He is a different player. Unbelievable how much confidence he is shooting the ball.

It just goes to show how much recruiting ranks in basketball really mean. The rankings are usually very accurate. Cam is by far our top rated recruit on the team. Even after 3 years of ups & downs he has the best physical talent. Buddy is our 2nd highest rated player. It's not a fluke they are our best 2 players.

The one thing really like about this team is that Spangler has scored 20 in a game, Woodard has scored 20+ in a game and Cousins has scored 19 in a game. Anyone can hurt the other team.

Just want to point out that I predicted Buddy would score 15+ so everyone look at me!!

Cam always had talent but lacked confidence and did not have a good stroke. Credit goes to Henson or whomever changed his shot and to Cam for making the commitment and the effort to make the change.

The result is the ball goes in hole, Cam believes and all part of his game grows exponentially as a result.

If Cam keeps those types of overall numbers up, anyone think he can win the Big 12 player of the year award? Or does Smart get it b/c of all the hype?

Cam is closing in on 1,000 career points,Haven't checked recently but I think he is at 974

Cam's made a huge step forward, no doubt about it, but Stacey King went from scoring 7 points per game as a sophomore to averaging 22.3 ppg as a junior, compared to Cam's improvement from 6.5 as a junior to 18.9 currently.

I've always thought Aaron McGhee made a big jump in year 2, but I just looked him up: He went from 12.9 as a junior to 16 ppg as a senior, which surprises me. I thought he improved more as a senior.

Right now he deserves it over Smart. He is producing more on less minutes.

Depends largely on records, I think. I'd think a team would need to be at least 2-3 games over .500 in conference to win it, particularly this year when there are a lot of teams that have a decent shot at the conference title this year. James Anderson, for a 9-7 OSU squad, is the worst conference record team I ever remember winning it.

Me as well on the bolded part. For me, I think it was the dominant run he had in the tourney that left that impression on me. Looking at his game by game stats, he averaged 21.8 through the tourney. He was nearly unstoppable during that stretch. :woot
