Capel on SA tonight.

Have to get back to guys who want to prove something, guys that underchieve are guys that are filled with hype.

Recruit guys that need to fit, McDAA not the only reason. One bad year does not equal how things can turn out. Harrison Barnes, Ray McCallum amazing kids....don't lump or judge.

Need to better job of getting kids with both feet in. Blake was that kind of guy. Not just guys who want to be a pro.

is there a podcast for this?

Not sure how many scholarship players, but will have enough to compete, fight hard and appreciate jersey [end of interview].

Sorry, not the fastest typist, no new information, but solid interview.

For those who want Capel gone, it isn't happening any time soon [I can see why Joe C. is enamored with the guy].

Coach Capel sounded open, honest and upbeat, and I really enjoyed listening to him.

he's always a great interview. and i think that's what makes a him a good recruiter as well. and that's why it's so surprising he hasn't been able to sweet talk any of these jucos into coming here over the last couple weeks. but like he said, they were late to recruit some guys because of the early defections. so i understand why it's been so hard to play catch up in recruiting a point guard.

btw, was al at a casino? what a terrible radio station. never understood why so many people listen but never have any positive things to say.

We can all dissect what Capel said untill we run out of scapels, but we all know that the signing period started yesterday & there really is not much left to choose from,OU needs a center(if Tiny leaves & that is a possibility)& we have no PG.As I was listening to the press conference Capel seemed to think everything was hunky-dory.I guess as an OU fan we must go through another learninig session of a head coach...I like the man but it is not a learn on the job at a D1 program...Go Sooners!!!!!!!!

What I took away from today was that Jeff has at least two more years at OU unless something crazy happens. I've talked to Joe C. on numerous occassions, and see what he and Mr. Boren like about Jeff.

Never one word of personal accountability.

I would have also liked to hear a little more personal accountability. Although he did say at one point something to the affect "we have made some mistakes" or something like that. The SA interview was better than the press conference IMO; perhaps because only fielding questions from one person vs. several.
I did notice that when he was discussing the NCAA tournament that he did put a focus on the fact that Butler and Duke teams both were made up of "student athletes". i.e., those that were there for both an education and to play some great basketball and were playing for something bigger than individual glory or their own agenda. This should be a focus during his recruiting process, if not already.

I think Capel will get it turned around. He's got a great attitude and always remains positive. Guys on the team that stick around will rally around Jeff IMO. We might not have a great record but I expect to see our team play with more of a team first attitude like you see out of all the really good teams. Just probably won't amount to a lot of wins.

Man I woulda' liked a little more mayo on my sandwich. Everybody griped about all of the silence so Capel comes on and answers questions for a freaking hour and now it's "I would have also liked to hear a little more personal accountability" What good is that???

We all heard what the man said, he never once said he was not responsible. You guys need to get a life.

Ain't that the truth. With some on this board Capel will be wrong no matter what he does!
