As Salt City Sooner points out above he did state that he did a poor job this year, but he didn't get very specific. At one point in a discussion about continuing to recruit McDonals All Americans he did note that you have to make sure you get the one's who have no personal agendas and buy into the team concept etc....what do you want him to say ? He admitted mistakes and is trying to learn from them.
My biggest problem was the question when Capel was asked about the team's effort and he acknowledged how poor it was. However, he seemed to portray himself as some kind of an innocent by-stander. It all seemed to be the fault of the players and their "agendas." What about the coach? What about pulling guys out of the game that aren't giving maximum effort? How about pulling guys that get continually burned on defense? How about pulling guys that let the opposition just drive right down the freaking middle of the lane unopposed, which seemed to happen with shocking regulairty this year?
I would have liked for him to address how the failures of this year are going to be used as lessons to improve his coaching and thereby OU bball.
