I haven't looked at the box score to see the end result, but I liked Blair's aggressiveness. He might be starting to turn the corner toward being a serviceable Big 12 point guard.

10 points
6 assists
3 turnovers
3 steals
40% from the field
28% from 3

He has the oop pass to Clark down.

Nice showing against a long Baylor zone. He is coming along nicely.

If Osby is as good as Capel says he is and if Goff is solid, we COULD be much improved next year with the way Blair is coming around.

Im just worried that Goff isn't going to be able to just come in and dominate at the 5. Hope I'm wrong though. I hope we take another big (but one unlike Nick Thompson).

I've been thinking this since about midway through the second half, but didn't want to be the first person to post it. Don't want to be too positive right now. :D

Well, look at it this way, and this is along the lines of what Bounce said above. Osby, and more than likely even Goff, push your boy toy NickyT to the end of the bench next year. Osby, if he has half the pulse Capel seems to think he has, starting at the 4 and Fitz starting at the 5 is a remarkable improvement to the Fitz-Thompson combo we saw for 30 minutes tonight. It's a start.

Blair continues to improve with every game. I love his court vision and passing skills. He was fearless on the road tonight against much taller players. That's the sign of a good floor leader.

I'm still not sure Carl can be a good defender. But I like the way he's playing right now.

Goff is an old guy... 3 years removed from high school right now, will be 4 years out when he gets to OU. I want to believe in him because of his age, athletic ability, etc. But why doesnt he impact his juco team more? 9-10 points a game isnt a lot in juco, where most D1 guys put up big numbers.

Then again, Perry Jones averaged 12 and 8 in high school and will be a top 5 pick. He was awesome tonight.

I actually like the odds for Goff to start over Fitz. He should bring better rebounding and blocking to the table. Goff from all signs is an high level athlete and after this season I would like to see a lot more of that on the court.

If Goff doesn't start over Fitz, I will be shocked. And worried.

I have a feeling he could come in like CJ. But at 6'9" that may be alright. Height, strength, defense and rebounding. We'll have guys that can put the ball in the basket. If he can be solid at the above and get some garbage points I think he'll be just what this team needs. Maybe a better Ryan Wright.

He won't have to dominate I don't think. Just take some pressure off the other players. We are a woefull team when it comes to interior play we need to improve so hopefully he is at least on upgrade over what we have now. I really like the energy CJ brings in but even when he was in position last night he either got pushed out or rebouded over because no one else was blocking out.

Blair had 6 assists and 3 turnovers. That's his average for the last 8 games.

I am still not 100% sold that blair should be our PG next year simply because he is a terrible 3 point shooter. I would rather see a good 3 point shooter at the point, but I suppose lots of teams would like to have that.

I will have to admit though that he is playing much better, even better then I thought he was capable of. Regardless if he starts next year or not, or will be a productive player.

I agree with this and Tony's comment after this one. Fitz isn't a starter, IMO, because all he has is an offensive game and you have to get solid rebounding from your 4 or 5 spot, and good defense from any spot. He's a role player but a very good role player to have in your pocket.

I also question if Goff will be able to come in and make an impact from day 1. JUCO's usually start slow, remember Ace McGhee? He was a ballyhooed JUCO guy and was pretty craptacular his Jr. year and part of his sr. year but once he figured it out that team improved dramatically due to him. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that Goff doesn't put it together until his 2nd year and by then it could be too late.

Carl is not as bad as you might think from behind the arc. Truth is, no one on the team except Thompson and Neal are averaging 40% or better, and that's on a limited number of shots from three. Check out the averages and you'll see what I mean:

I agree, though, it would be nice to have a point guard who is a threat to score from long range. Guererro appears to be that kind of player, which is why I'm hoping he'll choose OU and give us that option next season.

So does anyone have any news on Guererro? It was encouraging to see him at the aTm game; just hope that bloodbath didn't scare him away from OU.

Also, guess I'm too lazy to check for myself, but wasn't Cade shooting over 40 percent from 3-point range going into the aTm game?
