Charlie Spoonhour dead at 72

Condolences to his family and friends, which I'm sure were many.

I always enjoyed his work as a color commentator on SSN broadcasts.
 
I think he was also an OU assistant coach in '74-75 - the last year of Joe Ramsey's tenure (and the last one before the LNC opened).
 
Sorry to hear that. He was always wildly popular in this area. Very nice guy. I was in Vegas when he was hired to clean up the Tark/Bano cesspool at UNLV. Many questioned the hire but he, along with his son Jay, turned the program around and set the table for Lon Kruger.
 
A wonderful human being. Really revived STL BB basketball and was a very popular figure in St. Louis even after he left for Vegas.
Did a lot to elevate the status of the Mid Majors while at MO State. A giant killer there.
