Conference stats

Although stats certainly don't tell the whole story, they can be somewhat revealing. We now have 4 conference games under our belt. Nicole Griffin is leading the conference in field goal % at 74%. Campbell is second on the team at 52%. Now, I am not suggesting we should abandon other avenues to score but I do think it would be smart to try to run the offense through those who are most productive in putting points on the board. Both girls are effective in drawing fouls and making free throws. Getting the opponent in foul trouble also gives us an edge in winning battles inside.

It will be interesting to see if Sherri starts pushing the ball to those two players in the next two road games, particularly if Aaryn is having trouble scoring.

I also hope that Sherri uses Derica more in the next two games. She can shoot and plays smart on both ends of the court. All she needs is more playing time.

I sure would much rather shoot a bunch of 50 to 70 per cent shots than jack a bunch of "hope I make it" shots.

I agree about Derica, at least give her the opportunity to get in a rhythm if possible, she is smart and doesn't make a lot of stupid mistakes.
