Congrats to Travis Ford and OSU

But, but, but, OU hasn't played anyone yet!!!

Good point.

Congrats on the All-American Classic "Championship". OSU isn't a good team but is OU because they won and OSU lost? Being 4-5 to start a college basketball season is pretty hard to do.

Houston:

Wins
Grambling State
Arkansas
Utah Valley
Texas A&M CC

Losses
Oakland
TCU
LSU
Texas State???
OU

New Mexico is the favorite to win the Mountain West. If you don't think Houston would have been more than a 10 underdog to New Mexico as they were to you guys then you are highly misinformed. New Mexico would have ran that joke of a Cougar team out of the gym by 10+.

This OSU team sucking really shouldnt be that big of a surprise. I know a couple of OSU fans on this board hyped them up, but if you look at the roster they really aren't overly talented or experienced.

They have no post scorer. Jurrick is huge but has ZERO offensive game. They aren't that deep. They are relying on freshman or newcomers for major roles like PG, Center and a go-to scorer.

They have a some athletic wing players, and one midget shooter but thats about it.

Jurick may not be a great offensive player but he has zero points b/c Ford doesn't want him doing anything on the offensive end except put-backs.

Offense is an absolute catastrophe. Defense has ranged from above average to pretty good for every game save the Stanford debacle. Which gives me hope that if they at least turn into an average offensive team, by the end of the year they can win some games. Still optimistic for this season, a lot more than my fellow OSU brethren anyways.

Absolutely. OSU has a lot on length when Cobbins, Nash, Jurick, Brown, and Dowell are on the fllor. As good as OU has been in non-conference and how bad OSU has been, it is still non-conference. For OSU to be competitive, Ford has to get them believing in something. There is no reason they shouldn't be playing well.

The problem is that those guys are never on the floor together.

I would love to see a lineup of:
Page
Brown
Olukemi/Nash
Cobbins
Jurick

I think that lineup would have a better record

Lol, how predictable was that??

Btw, that New Mexico team that blew a 13 point second half lead tonight only to win by double digits is the same New Mexico team that lost to Santa Clara, who OU proceeded to absolutely dominate the next day.

b/c he doesn't put his post player out there to score...he puts him out there to get rebounds, defend and set screens. If he really wanted scoring from his post players, he would put more than 1 out there at a time.

We didn't pass on Jurick to get Arent. Jurick committed to OSU and then we offered Arent.

You are correct that we offered Arent after Jurick committed, but at one point before Jurick committed to OSU Krueger said they would not be pursuing him. I don't know, maybe Jurick spoke to Krueger/staff and said he wasn't going to consider OU with Capel gone. But I do know that he was still available when the new staff came on and they decided to go another direction. A time went by when nobody knew what Jurick would do and then he announced for OSU.

Like I said, I'm sure it will all work out fine and the coaches know what they need/want. I am just saying it would be nice to have a Jurick type player at points throughout a game to fill up the lane and alter shots.

I thought Jurick and Guerrero committed to OSU right after Capel got fired and before Kreuger was hired.

New Mexico is not the current favorite to win the MWC. UNLV is the current favorite. You know, the team that beat North Carolina and #19 Illinois. Although, New Mexico did lose to Santa Clara who OU beat by 12.

OU has at least some decent wins like ORU (who are still favored to win their conference) and Arkansas. Comparatively, OSU hasn't beaten anyone as good as either one of those teams. Although barely beating OSU and Texas San-Antonio at home are impressive victories.

I'm all for you supporting your team but its sad that you want to defend this team, the coach and the lineup.

I dont recall saying they were good or that their play this year is acceptable. I'm well aware of how sorry we're playing.

The caliber difference between the opponents tonight was night and day. One might win their conference, the other probably will not even make the NIT. It's not hard to see.

If OU turns out to be a legit or tournament team and better than OSU then I'll be the first to give them their props but unfortunately nobody will have a clue until conference play starts because the extremely difficult tasks of South Carolina St, Cincy, and Northwestern St. really wont tell us much either.

We're no bueno, but there is a slim to none chance OSU is 6-4 with that schedule.

Tonight was the first time this year I've seen OSU play in person. I was really unimpressed. No direction. Jurick is probably better than Arent, but he's nothing all that special. No way he is 7'2". Cesar is talented, too, but just seems to play out of control most of the time.
There a coaching chasm between Ford and Kruger. Ford, however, is more fun to photograph.

Wrong. OSU's win at Missouri State, a true road game over a top 60 Sagarin team is more impressive than any win OU has.

You know OSU is struggling when their fans have to resort to bragging about a win over Missouri State.
