Congrats to Travis Ford and OSU

OU schedules consistently in football and typically plays one of the tougher schedules in the country. This really isn't debatable as it has been proven by the BCS on two different occassions.

The philosophy for the football team is to play one big name opponent a year, one middle road opponent and hopefully one weaker team (but a school that does well in its conference). This year it was FSU as the big name team, Tulsa as the middle of the road team and Ball State as the weaker team. All of them are in Bowl games. Tulsa lost four games but if you look at the losses they are actually pretty good having lost to OU, OSU, Boise and Houston. Those schools combined for 5 losses with OU losing three of them. I think Tulsa will win their bowl game because they have played some good teams.

Ball State's not going bowling. They were in good position to do so, but ended up losing 3 of their last 4.

@jjhelsley John Helsley
PG Fred Gulley could be on his way out at OSU. Seeking a release, Ford not granting -- yet. Caught in 3-man logjam for PT. Sounds inevitable

Shocking for the blueblood basketball program!!!

:facepalm

Travie sure knows how to "love 'em and leave 'em".

To be fair, OSU doesn't have to schedule as hard in the OOC, b/c they always have a game against OU. That is the OU equivalent of playing Miami, or FSU, or ND in our OOC schedule.

OSU reminds me of OU from two years ago....

BTW where are the aggies defending their team?

Not much to defend at this point. But I agree that Leadership and Chemistry are completely lacking. It's tough to build chemistry and one of the perceived leaders just transferred.

Ford was able to get Eaton and Harris to play in his first year. It just seems that this particular group is not responsive. I'm not sure that it's egos. Usually CG is one that is a positive force.

Ford's teams have gotten better as the year has progressed his first 3 seasons. I'm hoping this team follows that model.

Oh and how does one finish 4th or 1st for that matter at the All College? It's not exactly a tournament...

I just know you guys didn't finish first...:D

They finished 6-6 why didn't they go to a bowl? I thought all 6-6 teams went to bowls.

ball st and wku didn't make bowls .. 72 teams (73 but miami banned it self)

WKU is the only team that got screwed ..

they finished second in their conf .. 7-5 7-1 conf record and didn't go to a bowl .. the 3rd and 4th place conf teams did ..

This is an outrage. Clearly we need more bowl games. Who wouldn't want to see a bowl game with Ball State or Western kentucky playing in it. I think either game would post rating similar to LSU v. Alabama. :)

I still think that Jurick would have been a nice addition. I assume that Krueger wasn't that interested in him because he doesn't look like he would fit well with the up and down style that we are working towards, but his defensive presence would be a welcome addition to this year's team. I have nothing against Arent and he seems to be a hardworking kid, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed when we passed on Jurick and offered Arent.

took the words right out of my mouth. it looks like we have another ryan wright level player in arent : ( I wish we could have pulled jurick, ever since i watched ekpe udoh do what he did at baylor i have been obsessed with long shot blockers.....
really wish we had snagged Udoh :facepalm

Get your dogs off the porch and play somebody fella. I didn't know OU would stoop to the Mike Leach approach to pre-conference scheduling.

We can rehash this after your first 7 conference games.

GIA Stout, can you check and give us the Big 12 conference record after the first 8 games? Thanks in advance.
