1. Coach said that OU has an attendance policy regarding going to class; anybody know more about what that policy is?

2. Coach mentioned that TJ had called him and asked how he could prepare to play the point guard position. Any chance TJ could play an Austin Johnson role [not flashy, but strong on defense and safe with the ball?]

thought thief. ;)

as for the attendance policy, i would like to know as well. because capel said he knew tmg was leaving before the season was over. i wonder if he told coach that or coach knew because tmg stopped going to class. if he stopped going to class and they have an attendance policy, i will be somewhat disappointed in no disciplinary action. only speculating of course.

I was at OU from 2000-2004 and was in the business school and as a student in the school of business we were allowed two unexcused absences per semester, anymore than that your final letter grade would drop half a letter. So we always had assign setting where the T.A would take attendence with a picture roster or if you were in a small class you had to sign a sheet with your Social Security number and name. I am sure the athletes have something very similar to this besides the other requirements of attendence in whatever college their degree is in.

Most schools allow you to miss a certain number of classes before it starts to effect your grade and ultimately whether or not you pass the class, regardless of your grade.

I graduated in 99 from the business school. Thank the lord that policy was not in effect while I was there.

I was in the business college from 2000-2004 and very few of my teachers actually enforced that policy. I also had several Sociology and Criminology courses as upper division electives and there was practically zero attendance policy. Did I mention that lots of athletes took those classes?

Me too. Never understood why people ripped him so bad.

i never ripped him. just got frustrated b/c there were times the he would dominant and times where he looked helpless on the offensive side. He also missed a ton of wide open looks

Exactly what I was thinking. I must be getting old, because when I was a student at OU, there was no such policy for ANY students. You were on a 100% self- accountability plan back then. I remember all of my huge classes, students would walk in, find a seat, pull out the mini-recorder, set it to record, and leave.... At the end of class everyone would return and pick up his/her recorder. I had classes that I only attended when there was a scheduled test/quiz.

I actually wish that there was more accountability back then because I would have probably been compelled to try harder in the classes that I despised. Not a good trend to give young, immature students the chance to blow off class with no repercussions.

when i was a student you had to get permission to even record the lecture...You would be suprised how much has changed with laptops for note taking and cell phones for cheating during tests....

Great Trammel asking these same questions...just FYI, I am NOT MrB!!!erry Trammel.

When Jeff addressed the scholarship situation, he seemed proud that he had never used up his allotment. That really seemed strange to me. Maybe sit on 1 but I would rather have a full roster than hope for some transfer.

Right now they are talking about the APR...how will that affect UK?

Oops, didn't mean to quote you topcat.

I'm pretty sure the attendence policy is for athletes and involves monitors coming to class to take attendence. I'm pretty sure the first strike is missing practice, then missing a start. I remember it happened in football once that a player missed a start due to attendence issues.
