Kruger said on Friday that Isaiah Cousins would get the start at point guard today against Kansas.

Edit: POINT. darnit

Re: Cousins will start at ponit today

Actually, it was Thursday at the Red Lobster weekly call in show. In response to a question from Toby, he went through the current strengths and weaknessnes of Hornbeak, Grooms, And Cousins.

He said Hornbeak still wasn't handeling pressure very well. That, and along with the fact he still isn't geting into the lane much has cost him minutes. When Grooms started against Iowa St. Kruger said Iowa St. immediately dropped off and was double teaming others. That was always going to happen this season and the main reason Grooms is destined for spot duty.

Cousins, he said, was doing more of what he need from his point guard. And went on to say that he was better prepaired now than when he was previously the starter.

Horneak's play has stagnated and he clearly has no confidence right now.

I'd say just the opposite is true of Cousins' play, wild shots included.

Grooms is who he is and he shouldn't start-- ever -- his role in the K-State game was perfect.

We don't have the right answer there but I wish he would just leave Hornbeak as the starter. Cousins seems to be the only one that will push the ball but once we get into the half court we all get nervous :-)

I am glad Cousins is getting some time but I am very concerned about the chemistry right now.
