Honestly, I have wondered that myself. Especially with the NCAA being conference refs and not NCAA-wide refs. I could see refs towards the end of the season helping the team that is suppose to win to prevent them from being upset. This being in a situation where an upset would cause them to have a lower spot in the playoff seeding or something similar that would cost the conference precious money. It is a sad thing to think about sometimes.

there was one ref in the tubbs era that OU lost like 17 straight games when he reffed, I think his name was stanley reynolds, don't think he was in the tank, but it was odd.
