Commits to LSU per her twitter.
I don't get it. I thought Distance was the reason she
Moved back to KS?

You had to figure someone would pick her up. I guess i always had hoped she might end up back in Norman.

I remember someone reporting that the real reason she left was grades, which would explain going back to the level she did. I also suspect the fact that she couldn't beat out Morgan factored in also.

To me, it was obvious that at the beginning of her freshman year, she was being groomed to be the next great point guard at Oklahoma. There was a video on SoonerSports.com of a skull session Coach had with DaShawn and Morgan. It seemed like Morgan's function was to assist DaShawn in shortening her learning curve. However, she was somewhat of a bust at that position. She had plenty of quickness and athletic ability, but she couldn't see the floor and run the offense effectively at all. She spent all her time going east and west rather than north and south. In the meantime, Morgan performed far above expectations.

I also seem to remember Morgan sitting at the end of some close games with Harden out there instead. I never saw her as a bust. I thought she showed some flashes of what could be. Did she make some mistakes? Yes. Who doesn't turn the ball over on Sherri's teams? I also remember some spark, some defense, and some good play.

This! I also think Hardin was on a short leash.

As I remember, Sherri cited DaShawn as a great passer when she was recruited. I saw a lot of passes, but they went to the fifth row. She just didn't settle down as a freshman. Then, she just left? Made no sense.

IMO, Harden was a player that had more natural skill and ability than Morgan had. However, isn't Morgan dating Sherri's son? That could be a very good reason as to why Morgan would get the spot over Deshawn, and her departure.

I know there were some unpleasant exchanges on Twitter between DaShawn and other members of the team around the time of her departure. There was definitely no love lost between Harden and Jeffcoat.

@Hawks00: That's the most reprehensible thing I've ever read on this board.

Now, back to Tango's mention of that video on SoonerSports.com in Harden's freshman year...I remember it. I also remember thinking at the time that Dashawn seemed a little prickly when Coach suggested she watch and learn from how Morgan did something. (Don't remember specifically what.) Sort of a "What? You want ME to watch a converted shooting guard and learn something about how to play the point guard position?" attitude.

I wish Dashawn nothing but good fortune at LSU.

I remember watching Harden and thinking she had a lot more athletic ability than Morgan. At the time a lot of folks (me included) thought Morgan was playing out of position and she would not make a point guard, She proved me wrong! Harden made some really good and really bad passes, at the time more bad than good. I think there was more going on than just her basketball skills. OH I don't think you have to guess.

If Hardin has improved as many of us expected she would, she should help LSU.

I don't see why you would call out a poster for talking about a player, but then turn around and and say Dashawn has an Attitude problem.

If grades had something to do with it I've heard that the SEC isn't as hard as other conferences.

Harden had a huge upside that didn't get realized in her only year here, probably for a variety of reasons.

I think all of the reasons others have listed here, with the possible exception of Morgan possibly dating Cole's son, have some logic and credence behind them.

If she would have stayed here and would have gotten out of Sherri's doghouse, which I think she was in a bit, she might have beaten Morgan out.

I watched LSU play in the tournament several times. She should definitely help them a lot.

How was she in the doghouse? She played in important games down the stretch instead of Hook. How is that in the doghouse?
